@motie2 Interesting reading but four years out-of-date as smoking regulations have changed in every state. I've been the "president" of the New Orleans Pipe Club for the past 3 years and Mayan Imports now has a new location with a smoking lounge that has room for about 25 people. That being said, while it is the biggest shop in the area and has the largest selection of pipes and pipe tobacco, they cater more towards cigar smokers.
Of course, with the pandemic, the club is withering on the vine because we haven't had a meeting since February.
Don't know how this applies to pipe tobacco, but it can only be good news...
COURT DELAYS FDA PRODUCT APPROVAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PREMIUM CIGARS INDEFINITELY
The FDA’s ability to require premium cigar companies to seek product approval for its cigars has been delayed indefinitely by a federal court.
Judge Amit P. Mehta of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has ruled in the cigar industry’s favor in an ongoing lawsuit against the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. He has granted the cigar industry’s request for relief and delayed FDA’s ability to enforce its premarket approval process for premium cigars until after the agency completes a thorough review and considers a “streamlined” process specifically for premium cigars.
As such, premium cigar companies will not have to file for product approval on the Sept. 9, 2020 deadline.
@Zouave Well, at least one was a Falcon, a Kaywoodie Filter Pipe, or a Yello-Bole Viking. I can’t quite tell, but my guess is it’s a Kaywoodie. I think I can make out a ridge where the stem meets the shank, the Falcon’s I have seen do not have this shank ridge. The pictures I have seen of Yello-Bole Viking pipes all have finned shanks, so I am reasonably sure it is not a Viking. Anyone else have some insight’s to the metal stemmed pipes’ brand?

Correct as always, sir! Tobacco Business magazine just publicized the article, although it is dated 2016.
