Since 2015, the American Pipe Making Exposition has been an annual Smokingpipes.com tradition that showcases the work of US-based artisan pipe makers, as they create pipes specifically for that year's theme. Previous years have focused on accenting materials or finishing styles, with last year's expo themed around bamboo, but for 2020, we took a slightly more nebulous, philosophical approach. For this year's theme, we asked carvers to fashion pipes that represent their artistic influences.
Nothing compares to the month of August with its dust motes dancing on endless rays of sunshine, scorching heat, and drone of busy insects that lulls us into daydreaming over a bowl of our favorite "pipe weed." Our Sweet Galenas House Blend brilliantly lends itself to such times of wanton idleness, which is why it's our August Blend of the month. Check our Blend of the Month page for information and the link to Sean's YouTube video review of this delectable aromatic. Every order placed during August will receive a sample of Sweet Galenas!
In Svendborg, Denmark, on the coast of the Baltic Sea, a very small tobacco factory with the name S. Bønnelyckes Tobaksfabrik .... continued for 50 years .... and in 1887 its owner lost it in a poker game. The winner of that poker game traded it for a horse and a barrel of whisky to Harald Halberg .... Halberg knew what he was doing, and he grew the company .... into one of the largest manufacturers of pipe tobacco in the world: Mac Baren.

I like the "African Safari Big Five" set, and I really like the "Chinese Zodiac" set. There are lots of nice meerschaums on that site.
I would like to know if they are hand carved, 3-D CNC carved or press molded?
