@thebadgerpiper The older gentleman in that commercial played a retired colonel who set up permanent residence at Fawlty Towers, a comedy series with the same name starring John Cleese. I have that entire series on DVD and watch them at least once a year... HILARIOUS! Thanks for sharing...
The National Pipe Archive (NPA) was founded to collect and preserve documentary and archaeological evidence relating to the history and culture of pipe smoking. http://www.pipearchive.co.uk/
@KA9FFJ I thought he looked familiar. I've only seen a few episodes of Fawlty Towers season 1, but I do like it. Speaking of which, I need to get back into Monty Python's Flying Circus while it's still on netflix.
I looked on Cup-O-Joes for the Regina Scarlatta pipes. The few they have are not priced outrageously....not inexpensive, but look like a good price for the quality (visually), in my opinion. They are less than I thought they would be.
@motie2 Here's something else to consider concerning the Old Tobacco Shop photo. There's a good possibility that some of those pipes pictured in the counter are probably still being used today... Just thinkin'...
Also, the artifact of the past post: Here is a person that obviously takes record keeping VERY seriously. It is neat, but I couldn't do it. IMHO, it would cause my hobby to seem more like work. Oops, sorry for the four letter word...
I think his bottom line on PAD is, be more selective. The problem with PAD sufferers is just that. They are MORE selective... they (we) select EVERYTHING!... 😏

Yes, I agree that is a great site. I have visited often, and I have actually sent copies of a vintage pipe pamphlet to him to post.
