i hope this seller doesn't mind me sharing this here, I was looking for a leather pipe pouch for traveling and came across these and laughed my ass off. This is brilliant.😂
I saw Mac Baren had a full size sticker for their tin that was sent with the tin that could be used to cover the warning label. I think it was on the SPC site when there was a commemorative edition tobacco of some type. It would be interesting if tobacco companies sent a new label to cover the warning labels on tins, kinda stickin it to “the man” so to speak.
@Londy3 Not quite the ashtray, but a nice one and seems like a good deal to me. The 7 Seas Gold is a pretty good smoke, similar to RLP-6 and the likes. I have not tried the rest.
@Londy3 Not that it makes any difference, but I just remembered that I have the Mac Baren Scottish Mixture and Modern Virginia as well. They were ok, but obviously not memorable. At least, not for me.
It's strange, look up pipe ashtrays on Amazon and the reviews on some of the ones under $20 are horrible. I mean, it's a damn ashtray, how can you screw that up?
@motie2 That's a great find! I think I'll download those pics and find a multi-matted single frame to house them all and hang in my pipe/tobacco storage/workshop room... Tnx for posting..
<<I have often been asked what was the best tobacco I have ever smoked. I have no answer because there are too many variables. Around 1982 I smoked a bowl of Royal Yacht, (made by Dunhill) not a tobacco I have ever favored. That bowl was one of the best smokes I ever had. I remember it well. It was a June day and I had just had a lunch of French cheeses, cold cuts amongst which was a superb Hungarian salami, along with a fair number of glasses of white wine and some very good company. After which I lit up a slightly large pipe filled with the aforementioned Royal Yacht. As I smoked it over the next 45-50 minutes while consuming a glass more or two, it was unbelievably good. Funnily, many attempts at smoking Royal Yacht again never worked, possibly because I am a confirmed Latakia lover.
Smoking a given tobacco and how you like it depends on many things. What you have eaten and drunk recently, your general state of mind and the company you are with…. or not. Even tobaccos that I smoke and enjoy regularly vary because of these differing circumstances. Consequently there is no best tobacco I have ever smoked. There are only bowlfuls that were exceptionally good - because of….what? >>

Nothing else makes sense these days.... why should that?
