@utilityworker101; You are a man after my own heart. I would have answered the same way with one slight modification. I prefer "Teeling Irish Whiskey" over "Jameson".
After a rainy, windy day the wife and I are relaxing with Vermouth and Sparkling Water cocktails. I just filled an MM Pride with Charing Cross to go with mine.
@PappyJoe I like it. It is not as sweet as Makers Mark. That being said, I do prefer Makers Mark because it is sweeter. I will say, for 93 proof it is pretty smooth. I did have it on the rocks, rather than neat, so the ice melt probably toned it down a bit. It is distilled in Lebanon, Kentucky by the “Limestone Branch Distillery Co.”.
@PappyJoe I decided to try it neat. It definitely has some oak and light vanilla flavors. It’s still pretty smooth straight. Pairing it with my tobacco blend mix from yesterday makes for a spicy experience.
@motie2 I make an Irish dish you would love. The Irish burger. Yukon Gold butter mashed potatoes as the bed for a thick grilled prime rib burger. Then cooked in a cast iron pan with sautéd onion, portabella mushrooms and slow simmered together in a Guinness gravy. Plate with fried onion topper. Served with a Guinness stout.

This is the ultimate comfort food on a cold night. Enjoy!!

Try Paddy Irish Whiskey. It’s a
real treat as well!
Thank you both for the referrals. Some much of the the Irish and so little time.
How is the Yellowstone Bourbon?
Do you know where it is distilled?

I’ll have to give it a try.

Ending the day with a classic.
’T’would’ve paired nicely with the Shepherd’s Pie I made for our evening repast. Iced tea had to suffice.
Ooooo, that sounds good
In a neighboring town there’s a friendly traditional Irish Pub, St. James Gate, named for the Guinness landmark. The house speialty is pie and a pint.
