@PappyJoe yikes! That's how long it's been since I have bought any. Years ago I used to work at a liquor store, and it was alot less expensive then. Now I pretty much stick to beer. Fits the pocket book better.
@Zouave With the old age and medication I have to take, I can't drink beer or wine. I feel bloated after half a beer and the sulfites in wine makes my blood pressure go up. My doctor has actually told me that having no more than 4 ounces of liquor a day won't pose any problems for me. I keep to that limit and some days I don't even drink alcohol. The same with smoking pipes, he knows I smoke one or two bowls a day on average and hasn't told me not to. He smokes an occasional cigar.
I decided to have a little popcorn snack and some chilled Montgomery Distillery’s “Skadi” Aquavit for a digestive. It’s paired with some of the infamous “Mixture No.79” loaded in an old (1901) P-Lip Amber stemmed Silver mounted Kapp & Peterson Patent Billiard.
@Londy3 It has a mild caraway, lemon peel flavor. It also contains/is flavored with fennel and cardamom, and probably a few other botanicals. I prefer it neat, slightly chilled. I fill my glass with crushed ice and cold water and let it sit for a few minutes, then dump out the ice and water and fill with the room temperature Aquavit. Skaal 🥂
My brother finally returned my message about my Scotch question. The Scotch’s I liked were The Belvanie 12 and 25 year and some Glenmorangie 10 and 18 year. I believe they are both “Highland Scotches”. Needless to say, they are not something I drink often, and then only one.
@RockyMountainBriar Spencer Abby is the only Trappist Abby in the U.S. that makes beer. It's right outside of Boston, and if you ever get the chance I highly recommend it. 🍻
Ok, @motie2, I need to learn how to do that. I’ve made some tasty Mokapot coffee, but not that visually impressive. I think my Mokapot may be a cheap POS. It works much better after I wrapped the filter lip with Teflon tape, but it…or I….don’t get those results.
Cafe Bustelo Estilo Espresso, packed just so, beginning with boiling New Jersey water (and a hand towel), then brewed on very low flame, making sure coffe just oooozes out slowly. Moka pot is standard Bialetti 3 cup.

Dalwhinnie is another good one if you don't mind the cost these days. Last time I looked it was over $70.
I don’t spend over $35 on a bottle of anything.

https://www.healthline.com/health/can-you-smoke-coffeeI’m not a beer drinker generally, but a Belgian Abbey Ale sounds tasty right now👍🏻
Beautiful creama on that brew!
