@Londy3, this batch was made by a friend of mine, actually I introduced him to home brewing. It was very drinkable, especially if one likes malty ales. I'm a hop head (beer hops, that is) so I found it to be good but not my favorite. He also experimented with a Golden Ale and it was truly disgusting, I had to dump it.
A late Father’s Day gift from my oldest. An oatmeal spice flavored whiskey. Not bad sipped over ice. I paired it with Jolly Joker which is an almond/nut and vanilla aromatic.
@motie2 The Tennessee Hills Distillery is in Jonesborough, TN and I have been there several times. They are "better" known for their rums - which they do distill on site. The whiskey is new make whiskey bought elsewhere and then aged in Jonesborough. If they do the whiskey like they do their rums, I not sure what artificial flavors they use. When they do a flavored rum like the Pecan Pie they make, they put who pecan pies in the barrels with the rum while it ages. This makes the rum a little cloudy but it definitely has a pecan pie flavor to it.
There Dark Roast Coffee Rum is good also.
This whiskey actually tastes like an oatmeal cookie and it has the same type of particles in the bottle to where it is cloudy. It's only 70 proof though.
Drinking some hot brewed Rishi Matcha super green tea with a touch of sugar and cream added. I’m not sure how it is going to pair with this evenings first pipeful of tobacco🤔
Bernard Purdie surprised me with a gift of two bottles of Cruzan 9, which had been my rum in the ‘90’s and these days unavailable in my spirits distribution area; seven kinds of Cruzan are available, but not Cruzan 9. That’s part of the reason I wound up with Jonah’s Curse Black after going through several recommended spiced rums over several years.
The 9 pairs nicely with a bowl of White Knight in an EA Carey sand blasted, quarter bent poker.

Bulliet bourbon, hoppium beer, home for pipe and cocktail rerun 🤪
The “Oatmeal Spice” piqued my interest, but the “…. with Artificial Flavors,” gave me pause. But still and all, interesting.

It sounds quite nice…..
In my humble opinion, it’s just as drinkable as spiced rum.

I love the buffalo!
Oh, the humanity!
Add a little rum and wash them down😉
