@mapletop I liked it and may buy it again. Problem is that I like to explore whiskey so it may be awhile before I buy another bottle. I'm probably going to buy another bottle of Texas distilled bourbon this weekend - either Balcones Baby Blue or Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon.
The Harbinger was interesting because its distilled from 90% corn - four different varieties - and 10 percent rye. Normally, when I think of corn whiskey, I think of a certain oily mouthfeel like from a commercial corn moonshine which is 100% corn. Harbinger doesn't have that. I found it to have almost a dark syrup, cinnamon & vanilla taste with some cherry notes.
Caught in a tug of war between the four year Champion, Jonah’s Curse Black Spiced Rum 94 proof, and the Challenger, Brinley’s Shipwreck Spiced Rum 72 proof.
Other than a very occasional beer, Weihensteiner’s Vitus, rum is my alcohol of choice, straight, rocks, or mixed.
While I await the next health crisis, this gives me something to obsess over. -10pts for ending sentence with preposition.
I thought I would try out/practice/get the hang of, pulling an espresso shot or two with my manual Wacaco Nanopresso tonight. I ground up a few Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans and proceeded to pump a double shot with the add-on Barista kit and another single shot back to back. It pulls a very nice espresso with a nice crema. I cheated and steamed my milk for a triple shot latte with my countertop machine. I know, the picture is kinda ‘busy”, sorry.
@motie2, this afternoon moderation gets forgotten!
Spent part of the last two afternoons moving birds to freezer camp for winter enjoyment. This afternoon it's a string of Woodchuck Amber Hard Ciders with the fake cheers of football.
I plan to pair this afternoon's ciders with Boston's Best Cavendish as an appetizer to Duck breast for dinner, tonight's ciders will be paired with a tasty English, Peretti's Omega.
@motie2 There are several different brands of peanut butter flavor whiskey. I was given a bottle of Bird Dog Peanut Butter whiskey last year. Personally, I don't really consider it to be whiskey because it is usually under 80 Proof.
I found the Bird Dog to be okay in black coffee but I wouldn't buy a bottle myself. I only drank it because I felt obligated to since it was a gift.

I have, occasionally, added a lot.........
Ah, my friend, thems that don’t know Vernor’s don’t know ginger ale.
From left:
Balcones Baby Blue, Texas Pot Still Corn Whiskey made from roasted blue corn
Wolfhound Irish Whiskey
Oregon Spirit Straight American Wheat Whiskey
Glen Fohdry Fion Frangach Single Malt Scotch, Double Cask in American Oak and French Wine Barrels.
Nice looking espresso, is that a dark roasted Ethiopian?
No, it’s a really light roast, even lighter than the coffee I roasted myself. Same type of bowl, with the Mazevo beans.
I have been wanting to try that, how does it stack up? I have looked for it around here and have not found any🙁
I didn’t realize it has been around that long.
Looks like the Nanopresso does a nice extraction, I'm going to look into it!
