In order to fight off the effects of the Coronavirus I've been drinking a mixture of Lysol and Drano. I think it's working because I no longer have any internal organs to infect.
Ironroot Republic Harbinger bourbon. It's distilled in Denison, Texas and the mash bill is 95% Texas corn (Purple Corn, Bloody Butcher Corn, Flint Corn and non-GMO Yellow Dent Corn) and 5% Rye. It's 115 Proof (57.5% ABV) and it's smooth enough for sipping. I like mine over an ice cube.
@motie2 - Actually that was yesterday. That being said....
1. It's 5 o'clock somewhere. 2. If you work the night shift, 9:27 and get off at 7:00 am, then 9:27 am is the equivalent of 7:27 pm for those who get off work at 5 pm.
I've known a lot of shipyard and refinery workers who would get off work in the early morning and go to a diner right outside the gates. They would eat steak and potatoes and drink beer when the guys going into work would order coffee and eggs.
Yesterday afternoon the rain cooled the air temperature down to 77 degrees and even with the humidity at 97% it was comfortable on the porch. I couldn't help myself and had to open my tin of HU Hadde Best Irish and have a couple of bowls. Paired it with a class of Knob Creek with a splash of water.
Not drinking this morning, but my wife saw a story about a New Orleans Distillery and I had to try their rum. It's a dry rum in comparison to other spiced rum. A shot of this in a glass of lemonade makes a good summer afternoon drink. I tried in in ginger beer and it was okay but it's better in lemonade.
It pairs well with Rattray's Caribbean Dream which is a coconut/vanilla blend.
@motie2 My first impression was "they left out the molasses" in the rum. It reminded me of a dry red wine as opposed to a sweet red wine. The second shot I sipped more slowly and they nuances of the rum came through better. I definitely tasted the hibiscus and lime notes among the other spices normally found in a spiced rum. I'm not a big spiced rum fan but this one is worth keeping around as a summer mixer with lemonade. I'm going to try it later with some tonic or club soda.
I'm looking forward to finding some of their 504 Gold spiced rum. It's aged with American oak chips to give it something like a bourbon barrel aged flavor.
Unfortunately, for most people, this is unobtainable right now. The distillery only opened in February of this year and the distribution seems to be limited to the New Orleans area. https://www.happyraptor.com/products.html

Bird Dog Whiskey and M&M's. Life don't get better than that!
I like your Shirt and Hat!
Ah, I see where you went wrong..... the correct mix is Clorox and Green Gobbler.

Reminds me of my youngest, age 41, who says, “It’s already 4:20 somewhere.....”
Kids today.....

Coffee soaked in fine Kentucky Bourbon, then roasted to remove the alcohol, so only the Bourbon flavor remains…
