It’s a little late, so I picked out a small one🙂. Smoking some Rattray’s “Exotic Orange” in a Peterson Standard System 31. It’s an old one with a bone tenon.
Relaxing with some Molte Dolce in a Smoker's Haven bent... You really have to let this blend dry before partaking. It comes way too wet. However, once that is done, I really enjoy the flavor... 😋
So last weekend I decided to move my tobacco cellar from the basement to my daughters old bedroom because the temperature in the basement never gets gets much more than 60 degrees and is probably 50 in the winter.
In so doing I noted that a few larger jars had more than 5 years on them; so tonight while trying to decide what to smoke, I went and grabbed some of those jars and decanted some into smaller jars for my ready closet in the smoke room.
So I'm having some 6 year old Squadron leader in a rusticated bent poker from a polish carver who's name is too long and unpronounceable for me to make the effort.
I.m parring it with a J Walker Black and soda, Cheers.
Mail call today. I finally found that sneaky Prince Albert in the can. I had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to get him out. My first tub, I feel like such a newb. I thought there was some kind of seal to remove besides the outer shrink wrap, nope, just pry the lid off. I had to “pinch” the tub so I could get under the lid. I repacked it in my vintage tin…because I can…and because it’s cool🙂.
I packed my first bowl of PA in the estate pipe I received in the same package, a Luciano Pease/Di Piazza Chubby Poker.
@mapletop I have found that I do enjoy me some dark fired Kentucky.
After a Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner of a Cheese Omelette, toast, coffee, some bacon, one strip seasoned with black pepper, one with a light dusting of cajun crawdad seasoning, and one with a sprinkle of Alpine Touch “Chili Sublime” at 3PM, I am smoking my Sillem’s 444 loaded with some C&D “Espresso”.
Laissez les bons temps rouler! Sitting on the Mardi Gras parade route with one of my daughters and grand daughter. Smoking some Meistermischung Cherry and sipping a rum and coke.
Nothing as exciting as @PappyJoe Just enjoying the sunshine, some BCA in an old reworked workhorse pipe while waiting on my grilling. Oh, the pipe is a real old Darby, cracks and all...
I loaded my little MM IPSD 2018 with the Sutliff “Eccentric”, I didn’t want a big pipe or a nasty Latakia ghost in a ‘real’ pipe😉. This tobacco is the most moist right from the tin compared to all the earlier series blends. I had to give it a 30 minute dry time before loading. I will say, this is the least objectionable Latakia blend I have tried. I think the Perique/Katarini is helping to tone down the Latakia. The Latakia must have been added with a very light hand as well. It’s not bad, I can smoke this blend. I’m still glad I picked a small cob👍🏻 It’s definitely got that strange and unappealing (to me) Latakia nose and flavor, but it’s pretty muted.

Cheers and hallucinations boys 😎

Brand new! Still had the tag on it!

Sweet looking pipe, Brother!
Those new PA Tubs, seem to seal back up really well.
Is Capt. Bob’s blend nasty latakia? I’ll go look.
Sounds tasty…..except for the nasty Latakia🙂
A little Peter Stokkebye Luxury English in the Friday Savinelli along with some Woodford Reserve
It looks like that leather tray makes a good coaster👍🏻
