Made a cup of Ethiopian, roasted half a pound of Kenyan, cleaned half a dozen pipes and finally sitting down with some London Mixture and a great cup of coffee!
I woke up earlier than usual so I enjoyed a bowl of Esoterica Tilbury with my morning coffee. A bowl of Star of the East Flake on the way to work and a bowl of Balkan Sobranie on the way home.
After breakfast and some coffee, I helped SWMBO with a little house work (happy wife, happy life). After setting up the start of my yard watering (reseeded yesterday), I'm now enjoying some Sutliff Black Cherry in an @Corey562 artisan pipe. Decided to pair it with some iced cranberry/black cherry juice... not bad, not bad at all...
Went against my better judgment and cracked open a new tin of East India Trading Company "Officer's Club". Didn't want to open any new tins til I smoked previously opened tins. But I got a powerful hankering for "Officer's Club" and something dark and frightening stepped out of the shadows, grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and whispered menacing in my ear ... "Smoke what you want when you want it ... cause the next time I visit may well be the last."
Unless SWMBO thinks up more stuff to do, I'm on relax mode the rest of the day! Launching this part of the day with some Lane LL7 in another @Corey562 pipe.
The last few evenings with the cooler weather I've been sitting out each evening before bed and smoking Lane HGL, Really like this blend and that's saying something as aromatics are not my bag.
You could argue that HGL isn't much of an aromatic, more of a sweetened English, and you would be right but the tobacco itself is quite good and suffice to say its becoming habit forming.
Canning salsa from the garden crops tonight, need to finish, sigh, and then another bowl before bed.
Just finished some impromptu plumbing on the bathroom sink and filling some new tube nerf bars for my pickup with expanding foam (the originals rusted from the inside out, I hope to prevent that from happening this time). Now I am sitting down and smoking some C&D “Espresso” in the old horn stemmed WDC. I want to see if the problems I had with Sutliff “Barbados Plantation” was pipe related or not....so far my guess is...not, this tobacco is smoking beautifully.....as usual. I have been drying the Sutliff in the tin with the lid off for four plus days and it is still sitting at 16% moisture level....and Montana is not known for being humid. When it gets to smoking level...if it ever does, it will probably weigh 10% less. That is one way to maximize profits....fill the tin with water and humectacants sp? So far, I’m still not a fan of Sutliff tobaccos, at least the ten or so blends I have.
Beautiful late afternoon here. Decided to sit on the front porch and enjoy the weather with some 50/50 Sutliff Taste of Summer / VG Black Cavendish in a Hilson Viva 201 with an after market extented stem. Ah, life can be good...
Smoking some of that fresh Samuel Gawith “St. James Flake” in a pipe I made a meerschaum replacement bowl for. It originally had a ceramic bowl of some sort that I broke when trying to remove the very stuck knurled ring...oops. I’m sure it smokes better with the meer bowl, even though the chamber is slightly smaller. I’m not sure what company made this pipe, all it is stamped with is abbreviations. It is from N.Y. though. @ghostsofpompeii Ya, it is slowly getting back to the length it was a few years ago. I wish I had not cut it off, it would be camouflage for my potbelly😬

Sage advice for of us! Enjoy and stay the course!
I find all three of those East India Trading Company blends to be VERY good. Also try the Cellar Reserve which is my personal favorite of the three..

I have not looked recently, but there is a website called smokingmetal.co.uk that has a bunch of different metal pipes.
