Going to smoke some SG Kendal Cream Flake (part of a trade with @thebadgerpiper 🙂) in my Caminetto Liverpool while I start to carve on this diamond willow. Beautiful day today, a bit of a breeze, but nice.
Did some Barbados Plantation along with Officers Club, separate of course, these are two blends I never mix with others, and I don’t really know why, considering I have no problem mixing everything under the sun.
@pwkarch They're not bad blends. After all, they are a Lane product. But I don't think a true connoisseur would bother to even critique them. To me, they're good cheap "workshop" blends, when you're half into your pipe, and half into your project. But to sit back at the end of the day, and just relax with your pipe, I'd go another route, IMHO... That beong said, it is an inexpensive way to build up your cellar poundage...
My cellar poundage is a source of contention and critical analysis already. My closet in my office is absolutely filled with Mason Jars of my "go to" tobaccos (100+). So much so that I cannot fit very many office supplies....looks like Fibber McGee's closet. And downstairs where my "cellar" is in my cellar I have about 45 pounds of my favorites in large Mason Jars and unopened tins. Sitting next to the tobacco is 6 airtight "Food Grade" containers (with Boveda Humidification) with about 300 or so top shelf cigars. And what did I do just the other evening? I ordered 5 tins of pipe tobaccos (new to me) that I want to try. No wonder I am always broke. I am a spoiled man, but it keeps me home. "Take 5, smoke 'em if you got 'em".
Today I sat out in my backyard after a long day of working from home. Next week I'm joining my company from a contractor to a full fledged employee, but that means going back to the building and putting myself at risk. It's a good change, but a tough one. So with a lot on my mind, I sat by the water with my Peterson 01 and Sutliff's Crumble Kake English #1, and just took in the moment. It was worth every second.
Some C&D Blockade Runner with some strong coffee this morning. Since I’ve got the day off I’m gonna go help my brother in law clean up his backyard from the tornado damage.
Spent half the day cleaning my garage. I'll have to admit, between a long winter and doing my wood cutting and drilling out here, it needed it. So now time to relax with some Lane CB Copper in a refurbed Rhodesian meerschaum. A very nice reward for a job well done earlier today...
@KA9FFJ I'm dreading that job. Our garage was built by the previous owner as a kennel and we use half of it to raise birds and rabbits. Once the winter storage is back outside I get to evict the "snookies" that took up winter residence!
Warming up with a bowl of London Mixture in a Rob Roy cob.
Loading some C&D “Innsmouth” (another fine Tobac in my trade with @thebadgerpiper ) into that Caminetto Liverpool and heading out to carve on my “stick” again. I got a pretty good start on it yesterday, (I only stabbed myself once), now I just have to define the diamonds a bit more.
@mfresa If it's the same pipe you showed on the MAKING YOUR OWN PIPE thread, it's not only a good looker, but I would wager it's a cool smoker ad well...
After staining a pipe rack, I'm starting today with some 50/50 Tinderbox Peach Melba and VG Black Cavendish in a MM Cob while cutting the felt inserts... this blend is quite tasty.
Doing some Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye in a reworked Archway bent. I acquired this tobacco 2 years ago at the St. Louis pipe show. Very nice blend...
Captain Black "Red Sky" in an old basket pipe I acquired from The Tinder Box many, many years ago, with the words Irish Seconds stamped on it. Great smoking no name pipe. Never could figure out why it was deemed a 'second' since it was bored perfectly and a pipe cleaner runs through without a hitch, the pipe has a nice grain and finish, there are no noticeable pits or filler, nice stem, and a generally nice looking pipe. Maybe the briar was inferior ... but if that's the case this pipe has survived some mighty rough treatment during my days at the Steel Mill and has come away unscathed. It's in much better shape than I was when I retired from the Mill.
Smoked some Edward G. Robinson in my @Corey562 (Abb) bent apple.
Looking forward to hearing Brian Levine present tonight at our virtual Pipe Club meeting. If you've never joined us this would be a good night to do so. More info at the TPL Virtual Pipe Club thread.
Man, P&C must be having personal or shipping problems, I know they said their would be a slight delay, I put in an order this past Sunday night and it still hasn’t been processed. Anyone else relate? Did some Panna Cotto so far today.
Something is going on. I placed a decent sized tobacco order last Monday. I live at the Jersey shore maybe 90 to 100 miles east of their operation. I got a tracking alert the other day telling me it was on its' way to Pittsburgh Pa., probably 300 miles or so west of their operation. They usually have my orders here in a couple of days and I might add NEVER routed to Pittsburgh Pa. Obviously something is not right here. Pittsburgh?

Good vibes abound......
Looking forward to a picture wherein you are smiling. Life is hard, but just sayin’....

@Michael308 hope you were able to enjoy a nice pipe. Just remember, this too shall pass.

Nah, if you look at package tracking, the movements about the country make no sense.... to us.
