Country Squire Cornishman in my Sea Rock slightly bent Castello. I love this mello English blend. It would be a great one to try for someone wanting to ‘test the waters’ of Latakia blends.
A bit of McClelland's 2013 Christmas Cheer in a Calabresi Canadian. #pipelife #pipejunkie #McClellandTobacco #Calabresi #Blowin'Smoke #it'swhatIdo #WhatchaSmokin'? #TPL #PSSITA
Just had some Jack Knife Plug in my Morgan Bones. Brother in law to be is coming over in a few and we are gonna enjoy the last half of our day off with some smokes, drinks, and steaks on the grill.
@jfreedy I hope I don’t get the shakes from PAD withdrawals😳
@KA9FFJ Well, I have somewhere north of 500 pipes, probably too many🤪 I keep thinking I am going to thin the herd, but I don’t know where to start. I have brands/groups that I think I will start with, I just don’t have the guts to go through with it yet. Going through the trouble of taking pictures and selling on EBay is a pain. I wish there was a pipe show near me, and by near me, I mean a couple hundred miles, which does not even get me out of Montana in any direction but south.
Well @RockyMountainBriar if you want to wait until next year (especially with the "void" thing), it will give you plenty of time to cull the herd, get them priced, and ship them to me for the St. Louis pipe show in Feb. Hint: once you cull, put all those pipes in a box, out of sight and out of mind, and mark the box "to sell". Trust me, I know, it makes the transition easier. You will eventually get use to your new look of keeper pipes. At least that's what works for me. I then can sell as many of your pipes as I can, then send the rest back to you with your money. Take your money, and buy some of your "on your list" pipes... Just thinkin' and offering... You only have 9 months to think about it...😏
After mowing the lawn today, I enjoyed a pipe of Orlik Golden Sliced in my Stanwell Bulldog while returning to my first love in history, the American Civil War.
@thebadgerpiper Mowing the lawn? I would be throwing snow🥶 Not really, I think the last of the recent snowfall melted away a few days ago.....but the grass is still mostly brown🙁
Smoking the Savinelli 320KS with some RLP-6 today. I made some homemade corn dogs last night, quite tasty by the way, so the house smelled like a deep-fryer. The RLP-6 should work as a room freshener right🤔
Smoking some Stonehaven in my Sherlock Holmes “Baskerville” on this beautiful afternoon. This morning I smoked a bowl of FMC in my smooth Peterson 302. I’m re-discovering why the Peterson System is still my first love.
@RockyMountainBriar We had a bit of snow the other day, but it all melted by the afternoon. It's to be expected in April, sadly. I would've let it be, but the grass was getting too long for my tastes.
Inspired by @Michael308 , I decided to break out my Bones bent Brandy for a bowl of C&D's Poplar Camp. I'm glad I did, as it clenches like a champ.
I was having a bout of "Lockdown Blues" yesterday so I decided to redo my tobacco cellar catalog. I found a tin of McClelland's Master Penman with a date stamp for 2014. I decided to open it and and try a bowl. The label says its an "elegant pecan-flavored tobacco."
The tin note is amazing. I looked it up on tobaccoreviews.com and the reviewers all say it smells like hazelnuts. I disagree. In my opinion it does smell more like pecans that have been toasted with cinnamon and sugar. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the first bowl which I smoked in a CAO Meerschaum.
The biggest drawback is, of course, its a McClelland blend so it's not being made anymore and I only have the one tin. One reviewer noted that it was similar to Nording Labrador but unfortunately that's another blend that is no longer made.
I will do a full review after a smoke a few more bowls. In the meantime: I CURSE THE NAME MCCLELLAND FOR TAKING SMOKING PLEASURE AWAY FROM US! It was selfish of them to retire and not sell their recipes to another company.
@KA9FFJ 9 How are those Smokers Pride products? I know they have a good price point, and I am certain one of the main blenders produce this for a different market share.

Having some Italian wine, Chianti, while making The Sauce. Outside chilling with some Peter Stokkebye Luxury English in my famous Italian blue Molina.
