Today I received my order from SmokingPipes.com, as I was out of two of my usual blends. Along with my normal blends, I added 2 oz of C&D's Engine 99. I've been interested in this blend for a few years, as it seems to be a favorite with other pipe smokers. Filled my 2019 Cob Nation cob with some and gave it a try. So far, I like it. It seems like it's a solid English blend.
Inaugural bowl in my hand made pipe. Trying some of my new tin of Rattray’s “Exotic Passion”. It is the same as “Exotic Orange” as far as I can discern. For this first bowl, I have the briar “straight through” tube installed in the shank. Smoking great, no gurgle, nice and dry.👌🏻 I have had a few relights, but I had packed it a bit too tightly. I loosened it with the pipe tool pick, good to go. I will try it without an insert as a reverse calabash for the next smoke.
Carter Hall in a sandblast bent Italian basket pipe. I'm taking a break from the pregame coverage and baby shark. Still though it is good to see this town come together for a change.
It's been raining all day, so I've been sitting in the garage and enjoying the gentle storm, puffing SPC Plum Pudding in my Kaywoodie Billiard. Can't think of a better way to relax on a Saturday.
Four days to Halloween and I'm sitting out back in a T-shirt and bare feet. This year's weather has been strange. I'm smoking Carter Hall in a bent Missouri Meerschaum.
It’s a bit cooler here. 23F now, and it’s suppose to get down to 10F tomorrow and 8F on Tuesday. Oh, there is decent layer of the frosty white stuff on the ground too.
Getting ready to do some Gatlin Burlier Rum and Maple in a cob gifted to me from MM. Question: This cob has a shaft and stem length approximately 1 1/2" longer than the "average" cob, and it is NOT set up for a filter (which is fine with me)... is this common?

The one pipe I remember my father having was a Marxman.
I'm smoking some Borkum Riff on a bent Roma. The Borkum Riff seems mellower tonight or perhaps I've just slowed down and enjoyed it.
Reminds me of the two years I lived in North Dakota.
