@RockyMountainBriar As you know, I live in the St. Louis area. So as far as I'm concerned, it's too early for that "white stuff" here... Do all you can to keep it up there where it belongs... 🥶
I'm sitting out back in my very worn field jacket smoking a bowl of Captain Black Cherry in a small Dr Grabow. The Captain Black Cherry is surprisingly good tonight. I haven't had any in some time and it pairs well with the smell of fallen leaves and wood smoke.
Just finished off my second-ever bowl of Voodoo Queen. First in my little Medico, then a big bowl Kirsten. Really liking it so far. Opinions on tobaccoreviews are all over the place, but I find it a truly enjoyable smoke. Mild but sweet and flavorful. When the Perique kicks in, hoo-boy!
I had a half a bowl of Captain Black Cherry in my small Dr Grabow. We are getting some much needed rain. It's too wet to sit outside and a half of a bowl is about all I can stand and smoke. It was a long day.
Today is a chilly one in the Pacific NorthWest. I am enjoying a bowl of Gentlemen Caller by C&D in a Peterson's 120 billiard. It is a good day to feel the changing season as I take a brisk walk.
Peter Stokkebye Luxury English blend in my blue bent Molina. Lovely night to relax, watch the deer, have a cocktail, watch the sun set and the moon come out.
Captain Black Classic in a Dr Grabow billiard. The temperature has dropped 40 degrees and I've fired up the wood stove. This calls for comfort food (roast beef hash) and a classic tobacco.
FMC in a BBB. Just got this sandblasted billiard from eBay (at least 40 years old). I thought I’d break it in (after a full restoration & cleaning of course) with some treasured Frog Morton’s Cellar. Man, I love this blend!
@motie2 Try the John Bull Pouch........I kind of like it and I am not much of a Latakia lover. Also, another one that I like is Cross Eyed Cricket......again, I liked it and it remindedme of the Frog Morton Cellar. But remember, I am not a Latakia expert by any means.
@motie2 - nothing so far can replace FMC, but there are several that scratch that itch so to speak. Its funny you mention Eastfarthing. I just ordered a tin along with some more Carolina Red Flake and a tin of Corn Cob Pipe and a Button Nose from TobaccoPipes. Can’t wait to try it.
Wrapping up yard work for the year. Disconnected pump, drained and put away connect hoses, mowed and trimmed yard. Now it's break time before tackling (pulling) my garden. Doing some Lane BCA in an MM cob...
Just finished another bowl of Exotic Passion in my handmade pipe. I used the aluminum “stinger” (for lack of a better term). It smoked well, no gurgle and I was a little bit surprised when I found the shank chamber almost free of any moisture as well? I did pack the bowl last Saturday and capped it with one of my “wine bottle” corks. It has been in a zippered suede pipe pouch as well. When I pulled the cork cap and checked the tobacco, it had turned into a kind of “crumble cake/plug”? It had dried a bit from tin level, but not overly dry either. It lit, smoked, and tasted great. The next test is as a reverse calabash without any skank “device”.
Smoking some Comoy's Cask 11 (British Strength) in a Peterson XL 90.
Normally the only way you get the British strength cask 11 is from a tin as the bulk carried by P&C and Smoking pipes is different (not as good in my opinion).
I was very surprised when I was at Arlington pipe and cigar on Saturday for a social smoke, and saw the jar in the rack of house blends that just had a label that said "British Strength" on it.
An inquiry revealed that it was in fact the real deal so I bought a pound, Great stuff if you enjoy English blends.

I’m glad I brought back some good memories 😬

Love that RLP-6!!!!
Earlier today it was another bowl of McConnell Code: Relax
Nice pic...
I’m down to my last FMC. Have you found something to fill the hole?
So far, I’m going with Eastfarthing....
