I'm having a bowl of Mac Baren 7 Seas Black Blend in this sweet little Italian basket briar. When I first bought this blend last year I couldn't get the range on it. Now with a little age on it it seems to be behaving better.
Just finished watching the sunset from my screened in back porch while doing some Sutliff Caramello J2 in a cob gifted to me by Missouri Meerschaum from the St. Louis pipe show...
Needed to make some space in the kitchen cellar, so, sigh, with zero fanfare and a tear in my eye, I have loaded the very last of the McClellan's Yenidje Highlander into my Peterson killarney XL 90.
Indeed it is in fact the last McClellan tobacco I possess.
I feel like there is something definitely missing with regard to this experience, I know, it needs a funeral dirge and a piper.
Cheers to all at TPL as we lay to rest the final labor of Mike & Mary McNiel,
@mapletop, I think by then it will have aged as well as it can. I bought it in 2017, so it will be 8 years old by then. Probably won't improve much beyond that.
I just finished mowing my yard and went inside to cool down, I came back out to finish my bowl of Devil's Holiday. I don't know if you can see him? It is a little (2 point western count 4 point eastern) buck hanging out in the next door neighbors yard chilling in the shade. He is about 15 yards away from me.
Not right this minute. but earlier today I smoke a first ever bowl of John Bull in a Grabow Starfire. I had read a lot of good stuff about this blend and bought some several months ago and jarred it. I have to say, as someone who has always held Latakia as my least favorite tobacco, I thoroughly enjoyed this smoke. Although I am not yet ready to review it, I have some very favorable thoughts. I know this is lightly infused with Latakia, and perhaps that is what I needed to like a Latakia mixture. Some others over the last several years just did not impress me at all being a straight burley or cavendish kind of guy, and an aromatic lover.
Our friend Motie lately has been adding Latakia to some aromatics and reports success. I am in the next several days going to add a bit of aromatic tobacco to the John Bull and see what happens.
A ggod day today, I made friends with something i had shyed from for a long time.
Last 2 work days have been brutal 100 degrees of nastiness. Really enjoyed this evenings smoke of plum pudding and some NFL. Packed it a little differently and it made a difference.

Big secret. Some actually look pretty good too.
I love @thebadgerpiper idea of making them your own by doing some customizing.

I’ve read that Bengal Slices are — or were at one time — pressed slices of Balkan Sobranie. Any opinion?

It was all good.
I've been smoking a lot of carter hall and needed a change.
I don't believe I can bring myself to try it.
