@Londy3 Since you mentioned it, I looked at my green Molina more carefully and it has darkened same as your has..
But when I took the pictures with the flash on, that unusual discoloration may be the grain coming back in to view from under what ever they used. It actually looks kind of cool.
@Londy3 Interesting that you mention an Old Fashion, last night we went out with the in laws for dinner at a Weber Grill Restaurant (my first time) and they had on their house special drinks menu their version of an old fashion.
It was the best bourbon old fashion I've ever had, it had one very large ice cube, a couple of luxardo cherries, the bourbon was Old Forester that they infuse with five ingredients in some special rig according to the waiter, no idea what else was in it.
I would go back there just for the drink. wish I could recreate it at home. Gonna try an old fashion next time the insomnia strikes.
I've had a tin of C&D's Innsmouth sitting around since the Chicago Pipe Show. Tonight I decided to give it a try, and I'm pleasantly surprised. The tin note has a sweet scent to it that I can't place, and the smoke retains that smell with an overall smooth smoke. As long as it doesn't change me into a fishman abomination, I'll enjoy this tin.
@thebadgerpiper I am curious, would you say the Perique in that blend is a major presence or just condimental? I can't handle any more than a little bit of it.
Today I am sitting down with a fresh brewed coffee and a magic inch filled to the to with a 50/50 of well aged Early Morning Pipe and BCA. This is a blend that never lets me down for a mild and relaxing time.
Tonight is the big promotion for Ken Burns documentary on Country Music. In honor of that I started off with Carter Hall in a Missouri Meerschaum. The second bowl was Half and Half in a Dr Grabow Grand Duke billiard. I just filled up another Dr Grabow with Prince Albert. It is tasting a lot richer than it did the last time.
I can't seem to stop smoking Lane Limited "Wild Hare". It's become such a go-to blend that I hardly dig into my cellar. I have a tin of it sitting on the end table right next to me making it even more convenient. Although I have been alternating occasionally with Panama Jack "Key Lime".
@jfreedy I know what you mean. Just fill it up, pack it right and sit back for a nearly effortless smoke. At less than $30 it shouldn't smoke as good as it does but it does.
I'm trying @Danfriedman 's recipe of 50/50 Early Morning Pipe and BCA in my MM Country Gentleman. Good stuff. I think next time I'm going to try 2/3 EMP & 1/3 BCA. Especially if I'm smoking early in the morning.
@ghostsofpompeii about a year ago I think I mentioned Wild Hare, it's definitely a favorite of mine. Goes great with happy hour bourbon. Since you like that also try LL7. That's my go too...
Equal parts Panna Cotta and Barbados Plantation mixed 50/50 with Carey Revolution Tabac (the stuff in which I buried the rum re-charged barrel stave cube from a tin of FMC for a couple of weeks.
Delicious smoke, no bite, no dottle.
@pwkarch -- I'm coming around to your way of thinking. As Molto Dolce is to Crème Brûlée, so Panna Cotta is to Vanilla Custard.
HOWEVER: I still think Lane VBC is the ultimate vanilla blend.

Change of diet tonight. I'm smoking the last of a pouch of Captain Black Royal in my shire cobbit. It's tasting pretty good after too much pizza.
