Wife went to bed, I'm up working on my final term paper and so I loaded up my MM Country Gentleman with some Captain Black Royal while reading and lining notes. It's not bad, its' not great, it's a little better than ok but not as good as good. Haha! It's... Decent? Haha. I'll probably get through the pouch but I might only buy it if the pouches are on sale.
Since receiving my order of Scotty's "Trout Stream" from Pipes & Cigars, it's become my exclusive evening smoke. Last night I smoked a bowl in one of my H.S. Studio pipes. Great blend. Amazing pouch note, room note, and flavor. The pouch note is Butterscotch with a hint of coffee. It has a similar taste and room note as Highland Grog coffee. And a bowl of Scotty's Trout Stream paired with a cup of Highland Grog coffee is the perfect combination.
Finishing a tin of Wessex Balkan Supreme. It is not bad but not great. It is a mild English but comparing with Sutliff's Lord Nelson, also a mild English, LN taste better for me.
I took a break from pipes during the sudden cold spell up here in Illinois. Now that it's warmed up a tad, I'm back out, freezing my fingers while trying GLP's Sextant in my Mountbatten billiard. This is an interesting blend, combining a Navy Flake with an English feel to it. I love Navy Flakes, so this one is an instant winner for me.
Chatham Manor in a Charles Towne Cobbler. I really like this pipe but not the blend. I've tried Chatham Manor twice now and both times don't get much flavor. It's just kinda... meh.
By the way, if you've been looking at those new Missouri Meerschaum St. Patrick's Day pipes (with the cool green stem) it's basically the same thing as the Cobbler but with a straight stem & without the dark stain. Same exact bowl shape and stem material. Unfortunately, the St. Patty pipe is always sold out.
@Danfriedman -- Nice! I need to try some Boswell blends. Which Sherlock Holmes pipe are you smoking? I have a Baskerville the didn't really "break in" until last year. Smokes great now!
@jfreedy I did not know there were St. Patrick's Day Missouri Meerschaum's. Now I need on of those I really like my C&D Carolina Gent. Maybe a Missouri Meerschaum "Patriot" for Independence Day with Red/White/Blue theme. Ahh...and maybe a "Halloween" Missouri Meerschaum "Lil Devil" pipe with a red stained bowl and an orange stem with a black shank ring or an orange/black stem with a nickel ring?? I may have to leave some suggestions at Missouri Meerschaum
Getting home from work. Thanks God today is Friday! About to start a new blend, Wessex Gold Standard. It should be a medium to strong Balkan and that is what I need now to relax.
Today was my birthday, so I spent it cleaning up this estate Savinelli that I acquired from a good friend of mine. This one needed some heavy TLC, so it got a scrubbing with a wood cleaner, a deep interior clean, and a stem polishing. The work was worth it, as it came out nice, yet retaining a respectable, weathered look. I'm breaking it in with MacBaren's Burley Flake, and I can safely report that it's a keeper. Dent Dublins are great pipes.

Is that a true Cavalier with a drain plug? I'd like to see that one, or do you mean figural Cavalier?
