Holiday Spirit from 2016 in a Marshal Fields pipe. Yes, they used to sell pipes. One of the older men in our pipe club, said he used to work at the pipe display at marshal Fields.
A combo of RLP6 and Lane BCA for the first bowl, and the second bowl was RLP6, Lane BCA, and Sutliff ZBC. The second bowl was much better than the first.
But I am trying for the first time Cherry!...ordered some Lane Very Cherry a couple weeks ago and it came today. I must say, it is very pleasent. Very surprised.
@Jeff20 Usually never like to recommend blends since we all can be very individualistic with our tastes, However if you are messing with cherry blends, and you haven't already tried it, give Lane's Dark Red a try. My first bowl was at the St. Louis pipe show last Feb. when Lane was giving out some samples. I tried it because about 3 or 4 people were puffing away and commenting on how surprisingly pleasant it was... I had to agree, and put about 5 oz. in my cellar and kept 3 oz. for immediate use. Needless to say, it's gone; so I'll be breaking out my cellar stash to rotate with other blends for the holiday season...
@Jeff20 — You might also try Cult BloodRedMoon. It’s probably the most talkedabout cherry blend today. It’s actually a chocolate-cherry blend. It’s really good and no tongue bite (which tends to be characteristic of most cherry blends).
@KA9FFJ, almost ordered that one when I got the "very cherry", I will thanks...did notice after a couple of bowls there was a little bite and after taste. @jfreedy , thanks, i will your right!...
Woke up to 27° this morning in the St. Louis area with a light scattering of snow. I have around an hour or more of running around to do, so decided to fire up some VG Black Cavendish in a Mr. Brog El Meastro that I stripped and refinished, while driving from place to place to place. Normally never smoke in the car, but cold weather plus opportunity has made me take advantage of the situation
