Recieved C&D Irish Blessing and some Sutliff Maple Vanilla and Sutliff Vanilla Latte. C&D blend is good, the Sutliff blends I'm sorry to say, a waste of money. Just didn't taste or smell like much of anything.
Smoking some G.L.Pease “Cairo” in my own handmade Liverpool while refurbishing a couple of Wally Frank pipes. Even though you don’t see the cake buildup in the picture, the Lovat had the worst cake I have ever dealt with. There was barely enough room for a pencil to be inserted in the bowl. Curious thing though, it was only in about the top 1/2-2/3 of the bowl, the heel was completely devoid of carbon. I guess whomever owned it before me never smoked it to the bottom. It smelled like a Latakia tar bomb and the shank was thick with tar, the stem would not even slide all the way in....nasty. The carbon in the bowl was so hard I almost had to get a drill bit to clear it, none of my normal carbon cutters would touch it. It was rock hard. I used a heavy blade on one of my pipe tools to get it started so I could get my Pipenet style reamer started into the bowl, and that took some work. I had to use the alcohol retort to get the shank tars softened up and cleaned out. I also put the pipe in my modified ozone cleaner/purifier for several hours to remove the Latakia ghost 👻🔫. I took a chance on the little guy and buffed off the black finish. I like to see the wood grain, luckily it was not full of fills and has a decent grain pattern🙂 The “Cairo” was a nice smoke too....for anyone interested👍🏻
Ok. I couldn't pass this one up... Finished my work around the house this AM, and it's time to fire up some Sutliff Dulce de Leche in an Abb Brown pipe... Later, I'll be enjoying a small bowl of Dulce de Leche ice cream... No, that's not a type-o... Check out the pic...
@motie2 Thought this might interest you. Doing a second bowl today. Blend is Moontrance in my only E A Carey pipe. Shank was slightly split, but after repairing, it is holding up quite well. This is my 5th bowl with this pipe and I can say it definitely is a good smoker...
Thanks @jfreedy I love the retro look of it. Currently enjoying a bowl of Stratfordshire by C&D in my GBD Bulldog. Wasn’t a big fan of this blend at first, but I think it’s growing on me.

As a Barbados Plantation smoker, I'm interested in your impression of the G&H Rum flake.
not sure how I missed the pumpkin carvings earlier in the thread but they look great! Awesome job on those.
