Took a break from my smoking hiatus this weekend to celebrate the birth of my daughter. Old Toby, frog Morton cellar, and northwest treck. One awesome week, made just a tad better with some great tobacco.
@PappyJoe as a Browns fan (yes I admit that openly) I too enjoyed the Saints delivering a thorough beat down to the Bengals. It was a good Sunday indeed.
@TaylorJDutton the Old Toby is one of my favorites. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying some frog Morton cellar unfortunately, nor the Northwest track.
Had a bowl of "Cornell And Diehl Jolly Old Saint Nick" mixed with a 50/50 blend of Sutliff Crème Brulee ... a wonderful combination. Smoked it in one of my Corey Pipes.
And now for something totally different (for me)... Doing some Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake in an estate found stummel reworked and refurbed with an extended stem... Also, I'm using my make-shift exhaust system. Already had the fan, already had the scrap paneling, and seems to do a good job...
@JivnJop — I would start out with something basic like a billiard (bent or straight) or an apple (bent or straight). If you are not limited by funds grab a Savinelli or Peterson. Both are excellent brands but won’t cost you an arm and a leg. If you are $$ limited you can’t beat a good, inexpensive Missouri Meerschaum corn cob pipe. The “country gentleman” is a favorite shape with many pipes smokers. Welcomeaboard !!
@JivnJop Agree with @jfreedy but I'd probably start with the MM Country Gentleman for sure. Easy to smoke. You will get a good chance to taste the tobacco too! Welcome!
Davidoff Danish Mixture in my newer Carey Magic Inch - What a great pipe tobacco blend. Very subtle aromatic. Smokeable right out of the tin. Not goopy sweet. Delicious virginias abound!
I love to read this thread as I enjoy my evening pipe of 50/50 1Q and BCA in a modest Savinelli apple pipe. It is fun to read all of the tobacco variations people list.
Tried Barbados Plantation for the first time, the tin note was fantastic, like it was soaked in Meyers Rum for a month.
While I have never been a big aromatic guy, this experience has me looking to branch out and try more.
I will say I was surprised that the tin seemed half empty, looked at the label and noted it was only 1.5 ounces, I guessing there is a reason for this.
Ah Newport........I once had to take a Minesweeper to Newport. Apparently the Newport Yacht Club does NOT like Sailors....several of us got thrown out. Imagine that.
While tied up at the docks, we were catching lobsters in crab traps....Saturday morning was Navy Bean Soup and Lobster.

When you get that new blend please report how it is. When I saw this in an email today it struck me as something that I would like to try.
