Went to sleep just fine Tuesday night and woke up Wednesday morning feeling like the bones in the arch of my left foot had been beaten with a baseball bat. Either a bad cramp during the night that screwed up the ligaments or else I just discovered I have arthritis in that foot. Woke up this morning and it's not any better. Supposed to get back up in the upper 40s today (how weird is it to say up in the 40s when you live in south Louisiana?). Hoping the "warmer" weather helps.
Didn't get to smoke yesterday because my daughters two dogs have moved into my garage and I don't like stinky outdoor dog smell in a confined space. Hopefully I will have a pipe or two today.
I hear ya about the cold weather. Sheesh, woke up to a 14 degree morning covered in ice with snow on top of that. We got blasted yesterday now we are iced in. But, the sun is out, gonna be in the 40s and 65+ by the weekend. Short lived around here not like up north. No pipe for me either. Prolly not till weekend.
I typically figure out a way to at least smoke (lunt) while walking my dogs each day... no matter how bad the weather is (unless it's ice). That said, these past few single digit mornings have been a challenge. I will probably walk them once it gets above 40 today. My garage with propane heater has been my safe haven lately.
Smoked some Dunhill London Mixture in my Peterson rusticated bulldog earlier. It's a balmy 34F and sunny here in Philly, great day for a smoke outside.
our rule is no smoking in the house. since I have picked up pipe smoking I don't know how I use to do it when I smoked cigarettes. makes me not want to go out and smoke a pipe. I think I'll wait for warmer weather I don't miss it at all
Hasn't gotten above freezing yet since the last snow so I want out on the porch today in the sun and had a quick smoke of Stokkeby Proper English in my MM Good Old Boy Conversion.
Smoked some Carter Hall this morning in my 40-y/o Wenhall bent pipe earlier.
Brings back a lot of old memories of my younger days when I was a volunteer fireman in the community and how we use to gather in the engine bays, smoking our pipes while watching the girls go by... I mean the traffic on the highway. A lot of short bumpers and big fenders.
@motie2 - after two days of being hobbled, I woke up this morning with my foot relatively pain free. If it stays feeling the same I will be sitting outside in lovely 50ºF weather and enjoying a pipe this afternoon.
Your welcome, never had this problem,it doesn't sound pleasant. One day at a time right? On a different note I whipped out some Sutliff Rum&Maple today in my Baraccini Italy pipe, good taste and note.
@motie2 steady and slow when my lower back acts up on me with my sciatica legs go numb can't stand for more then a minute it's horrible glad to hear your doing better god bless
