@Corey562 I like the way you think... Or perhaps using the same rod you're making the stem from (especially if acrylic)... Just a thought. There are so many variations and so little time...
@Corey562 Looks as if it's going to have a little Danish influence in the overall bowl design. I can't make out the grain pattern yet, but I'm sure you've already put some water to it to check it out. Can hardly wait to see the pattern. What will you do with the rim (tapered, flat, founded)?
@Corey562 That pattern is going to be beautiful! Any thoughts on the stain(s) you will be using?
FYI - Just completed a refurb on a Jost A1 pipe I picked up for a song. Still need to bring the stem back to life, but should have that done in a day or 2. Jost was a small Hole-in-the-wall pipe shop in downtown St. Louis. It has long been out of business, but that is where my wife purchased a pipe for me back in 1969 (which I still have - a Knute, very nice). There are a few articles on the net about Jost. I'll probably keep this one for a keep-sake. When I've finished, I will probably post a pic or 2 in the Refinished section...
Gotta love it when you get a call at 11 at night from a man wanting a danish style egg and wanting to know if you can have it done sunday cause his buddies birthday is monday. Told him eggs are right up my alley. It has been a long night but the shaping is done.
