@Oddjob27 ~ It's a great blend. I've been smoking it exclusively the past few days. It's kind of like Gas Light, only a bit milder and has stronger orientals. I'll be adding this one to my cellar for sure. I highly recommend.
I received a couple tins of SG “Sam’s Flake“ and two pouches of Peterson’s “Irish Dew” today. I think I am getting close to having all of the Peterson’s blends that do not have Latakia in them (not including the new Dunhill match’s). I waited too long and missed out on the SG “Lakeland Dark”🙁
@Michael308 ~ Glad to hear it! I'll be adding a lot more to my cellar. You should check out GLP Charing Cross sometime too. It's oriental forward and a smooth smoke.
@ghostsofpompeii I have been wondering about that CAO, let me know if you think it has a decent coconut essence and is a decent smoke? I dislike hazelnut, but maybe it will be in the background?
@motie2, interesting, so you can get a straight Latakia blend or a blend with Latakia in it? Don’t really know, as I said not a Latakia fan, but might be willing to give it a try.
Again, just put a little bit of a Latakia blend (let's say, Nightcap or Gaslight) into a aromatic blend. Like salt or garlic on a steak, a little bit of seasoning makes it better.....
@RockyMountainBriar I actually don't detect a hint of coconut. The same with hazelnut. If it's there I sure can't taste it. Very pleasant smoke ... more along the lines of some creme liquor or Irish Creme with a hint of coco. It also has some cigar leaf which gives it a more complex flavor than a normal vanilla aromatic.

Thanks, I made the tamper, it is Spalted Hackberry wood. The pipe is a Dunhill Ruby Bark #5226
Still warms my heart to know that I was right to SS you with the Charing Cross.

Overall, it's a good mix of old and new.
I should be committed, for that alone.
Cannot go wrong with either one. I enjoy mixing Latakia blends with the VBC.

A very little Latakia really perks up something like, say, Barbados Plantation.
