If anyone is looking for another pipe, excellent smoker of high quality and not too expensive, I suggest you jump all over this one for $65. I have a rusticated professor and it's one of my very best smokers and clenchers. I would, but I promised myself I wasn't going to buy any more pipes for a while...a promise all of us have made at one point or another
@vtgrad2003; I promised myself as late as yesterday that I wouldn't buy another pipe. I just bought the Savinelli Pipe you mentioned above. Thanks for the heads-up.
@opipeman By the way, they apparently don't make the smooth Professor 701 anymore, but a new pipe price on an Indonesian website converts to $105 and a close relative is the Tre 701 (which I believe is still in production) and that goes for $108 at Tobacco Pipes. So, at $65, that comes to about a 40% reduction in price...not bad at all for an SP estate which are always clean and well prepped. I've noticed over the years that the typical savings with an SP "smoked but rather clean" estate pipe, with no other conditions, seems to be around the 25% to 30% range, so this saving is much higher than that.
@opipemam You dirty pipe sniping dog!😬 Actually, I should be thanking you, it saved me some money and I get to delete it from my SPC wishlist….which is massive, unlike my bank account. Thanks @opipeman. Happy Smokes😀 I’m sure it’s going to be a keeper.
@opipeman@RockyMountainBriar If it is, I'll take full responsibility! But, like I mentioned, the one I have is one of my best smokers, so hopefully it proves the same for you!
@RockyMountainBriar I thought you weren't going to 'spend anymore on this hobby for a while'...don't go blaming your weaknesses on Christmas or you'll find coal in your pipe
@vtgrad2003 The XMas Pete was the one that caused my monetary dilemma. I just hope I can save enough to get the Peterson 2021 POY (if it is even going to be something I want) when it finally hits the market. It’s running kinda late.
@Zouave Would @opipeman 's recitation be considered a Shit or a Giggle? To me it would be a Shit, and not because I'm taking one right now but because every good pipe lover knows promises like that to ones self are full of shit!
@vtgrad2003; The Savinelli 701 came today and it is everything you claimed it to be. The very first bowl was a really cool smoke. The outside of the bowl gets hot, but the smoke comes through cool and pleasing. Thanks again. @RockyMountainBriar; I really did beat you out of a great smoking pipe. Sorry brother!

Don't blame me! I'm just an innocent bystander but it is a nice pipe for the price, hard to pass up, so I certainly sympathize with you.

Sorry about that. I really will be sorry, if it turns out to be a bad smoker.

Ahh, The 2021 Peterson Christmas pipe is one of the reasons I passed on that nice estate Savinelli🙂

Here you go! Oh, wait, not the Xmas you want but the POY, sorry, lol

Yep, I snagged a smooth 2021 XMAS Watson awhile back. It’s breaking in nicely👍🏻
That second one is a pretty damn pipe! I'm assuming it's all briar although the rim almost resembles olive wood which gives it a nice look.

It's a prayer for self control.

You may be right, brother.
