Welcome to all the new members. I need to come to this page more often since we're getting a nice influx of new members. I may never bump into a fellow piper in my daily travels but it appears more and more of us are actually populating the world after all. Welcome @RobmanMT@baconjacket (with a name like that you're a man after my own heart ... good heart but clogged arteries) @Cruxsearch@Rusty69(69 - another man after my own heart but I'll not get into that here ... it's a family place) and @piperdave
@motie2 cows, corn, soy bean, tobacco (dark fired, one sucker, and burley), grandad was very particular about how his tobacco was managed so he only let me (a young kid around 8,9,10) ride the setter to plant the tobacco, squish worms, and "chop out" weeds between the rows with a hoe, but ill never forget him teaching me about tobacco and seeing the whole process from beginning to end, my favorite memory was probably checking the fires at night when smoking the dark fired.
Thanks for the welcome...looking forward to setting foot here. I'm fond of English blends...dunhill brought me in and I hear their tobaccos will be no more so I'm stocking up.
Having a chance to check out the Kansas City show this past
weekend made me realize that I should introduce myself after signing up a few months ago. I’m a relative newcomer, started smoking a
pipe in 2012. Like many, I started with
Aromatics, and then made the rounds through the various styles of tobacco...
enjoying each one along the way. If I had
to pick a particular camp it would be VaPers, VaBurs and straight Virginas; but
depending on the mood I could really reach for anything on any given day. I’m a Southern California transplant to the Midwest,
and now call the Kansas City area home.
A hectic schedule and fair amount of travel for work keeps me from
getting involved too in the local pipe community, but would like to be able to
contribute here when I can.
Hello, I’m Philip and I’m from Ohio. I’ve only recently started smoking pipes about two months or so ago. I have a few old pipes that were my great grandpas that I have had for probably like 15 plus years now, but they need to be restored before they could be used again. I was a long time cigerette smoker and managed switch from them to a pipe. So far out of the types of tobacco I have tried I prefer the English blends. I like the Peterson’s that I have tried and the one blend of Dunhill that I am currently smoking.
I was born in northern Ohio, educated in southern Ohio, and spent the first decade of my career in mid-southern Ohio. Then I lost my mind and moved to North Dakota for two years before slingshotting back to the east coast. We ought to form a Buckeye Caucus......
Triumph of the spirit for sure. Glad to have you here buddy...I have been "piping" for over 50 years or so, loving every minute of it. The cool thing is even smoking pipes for that long, I learn new stuff every day because the rest of the bunch here know what they are talking about. Never a day goes by that anyone with an open mind cannot learn a snoot full of valuable experience and ideas. have a question: Ask, you will be amazed at the facts and insight that will be offered. One of my favorite of the input from others are when they blend different blends together and share the results.....I have seen and replicated some with very favorable results, and I have shared mine as well.
So if you need anything just ask........We all look forward to your posts.
@Lucashenson89 — if you ever find yourself in Charlotte, NC I can definitely recommend McCrainie’s Pipe Shop. They are very well stocked in Pipes and have many house blends you can try out. The Park Road location is the original shop and the best one.

The round can have a bit of a kick to it that’s for sure.
