@Pubstout -- Welcome, Sir. May I be so bold as to suggest that if you've been a pipe smoker for over a decade, you are no Newbie.
Need help with the site just ask in any discussion.... some one of us will help.
What House have you declared for? House English/Oriental, House Virginia/Perique (VaPer), or House Aromatic? I'm sure many of us could benefit from your experiences.
A little update, I'm still using my handed down yello-bowl. And have now tried almost every tobacco at my local ingles. I assume now I'm an aromatic smoker, and thus far liking Captain Black blue the best out of the ingles line up. Can anyone recommend a tobacco shop anywhere near Murphy NC? I'm more of a hands on, aroma shopper than an online guy. Thanks
Long time lurker, the new upgrade now allows me to post. Been enjoying the pipe on and off for several years, mostly while driving to work. Smoked OTC, mostly Admiral's Choice Black and Gold. Put my pipe away when CVS stopped selling tobacco. Wound up with some extra free time in my day and remembered that Dr. Grabow I had packed back. Dug it out, found some online shops, and stumbled into TPL.
@Swmaples -- Welcome into the community! We look forward to hearing more from you! If you need to find out anything pipe related, just ask..... someone will help out.

I was recently busted to a Newcomer from Apprentice for unknown reasons.....do I need to reintroduce myself? I swear I am the same guy as before................
Glad to find this little corner of the web. I learned pipe smoking from my father 25 years ago - he was an occasional smoker. I gave it up when my kids were small, but reconnected with it about 3 years ago. I travel a lot overseas for my job, and I enjoy introducing blends and pipes to my friends there - who seem to be attracted to pipes like moths to flame. I smoke mostly virginia blends and an occasional aromatic. I have been buying and restoring estates for fun recently - luckily for me there is so much good information out there to guide someone with more enthusiasm than talent. My favorite pipe at the moment is the Eric Klodt I just recently bought, but i also have a Mark Tinsky that I find myself gripping more than others. I live in a small Ohio town that as far as I've been able to gather has zero other pipesmokers, so I'm happy to find this group.
