Hey! I was looking for a detailed description of LL's HGL only to find The Pipe Life. Glad I did. Lately I'm into Spanish pipes (Sigmund, Salvatella, Bruken, etc.) and Latakia-laced concoctions, including the aforementioned, Balkan Sasieni, and such. Happy to be here.
HGL is a nice entry level crossover blend. I enjoyed two ounces of it and moved on. Strictly for aromatic smokers who want a little Latakia. Or anyone that likes HGL, I guess.....
It seems that we get new members signing up frequently, but never hear from them again. I don't know if it is the ramblings of us old farts that fail to peak the interest or maybe we bore you as much as we bore our wives, but I wish you would give it a try. We are all in this together!
I've agreed with @opipeman on this troubling inconsistency in past posting.

Well howdy folks! Didn't know about this forum until I searched, "what is the the purpose of a stinger?" and a thread showed up here. Just impulsed bought a Royal Lancer that had a stinger and I thought why did they do this?
Anyway, live in NC. Full time pipe smoker for a number of years. Got into cigars 1990 and pipes in 1997. Use to smoke almost entirely English blends until a few years ago and now, really don't smoke lat-blends. Most straight Virginia, Va/Per and Va/Bur. Smoke aro's mostly in winter months since I am in the house and that pleases the queen.
I do a couple of my own blends that are now being sold at a local shop here so I guess you can say they went legit.
Glad to be here! I will poke around and kick the tires!

@AceFour; Kick all the tires you want. Quality group of Pipe Smokers here, and very welcoming. Feel free to ask questions and express yourself. I have found that I have friends that I have never met, and in all probability never will, but consider them friends never the less.
Hi everyone! Okay so short story long, (or the other way around)... Been a member of this site for a few years but never got around to posting or even reading until recently, (yeah, yeah, I know)... Basically a beginner pipe smoker. Ex-wife bought me a Danish Bari from a pipe shop in the mall in Tucson back in '87 which I still have, (and would like a new stem for), but didn't do much on the pipe side up until about 10 years ago. Currently own a collection of about a dozen various pipes including a meerschaum, a MM cob, an Italian DiMonte, a churchwarden that I have a love/hate relationship with, and some others. My top three smokes out of all of them, seem to be The Missouri Meerschaum Patriot, (over 10 years old and still going strong), The Italian DiMonte, and an old white clay Tavern pipe that was familiar in the 17-19th Centuries. I smoked it when I did ACW Reenacting and for something so simple it's amazing. Just bought a house about eight months ago and now living a quieter life in a small town in North Central Indiana. Only drawbacks is that the two local head shops..errr..."tobacco/smoke" shops only carry Captain Black, Sir Walter Raleigh, and Borkum Riff for pipe tobaccos and their selection is VERY old. I also do cigars and have two small humidors full. Thanks to everyone for reading this and am glad to be here and active, finally.
You are faced with the same problem most pipe smokers are - the absence of a good local pipe shop. The best place to buy pipe tobacco these days are the on-line retailers.

So signed up some time ago, but got busy with life and other things. I am out of New Mexico, Land of Confusion. I collect, restore, smoke, sell and stalk pipes. My go to blends are Virginias, Va-perique and some aromatics. In the process of finishing up my mancave/workshop which has only taken 15 years to get. So very excited.
19Echoes, @addamsruspipe; Glad to see you both joining. Some treat this site as a resource for various pipe and tobacco interests. Others treat it as a social media platform. The beauty is it can serve your needs. My suggestion would be to log on at least daily and participate. Great people and a lot of knowledge shared very willingly.
