Greetings all! My name is Sean M.. So I guess I have signed up some 2 years ago but never looked into again since then. I just stumbled across it again via instagram. I have been smoking pipes since about 2001, and over the last 8 or so years pretty involved in Instagram pipe community as well as collecting pipes. on IG you can find me under "ofthemasons"
Welcome @shoneduart ! I went to add you on instagram, but it appears I already follow you! Take a seat, enjoy a pipe, and chat awhile on here. There's a great community to be found.
@pipeman83 my surname is Mason . If I recall my father mentioned that my grandfather used to have a connection with the local masonic lodge in san francisco but I don't think he was a member....
Good Morning, I want to thank you all for your helpful advice and input as I become a novice stage pipe smoker. I am thinking about joining the Friday night virtual meeting!
Hey y'all. I'm Brian, currently living in Green Bay, WI but originally from North Carolina. After 20 years of dipping snuff, I've really gotten into pipe smoking in the last six months in an effort to find a healthy alternative to a bad habit. I've had somewhat of a lifelong fascination with pipes, though. Whether it was Huck Finn, Sherlock Holmes, or the pipe smoking men I used to pass on the streets as a boy in the '80s, the pipe has always intrigued me. I'd still consider myself a novice smoker. I continue to struggle with those growing pains that are to be expected. I quickly learned how to avoid tongue bite, both with tobacco choice and puffing cadence, but am still learning how to keep the dang thing lit and maximize each bowl's potential. Each day starts with two cobs of Bayou Morning and four cups of coffee, unless I'm feeling particularly conservative or it's foggy/rainy out, in which case it's EMP or Chelsea Morning...because, atmosphere matters. The rest of the day is a toss up of different pipes and blends, both non-aromatic and aromatic. I'm still breaking in pipes and experimenting with my technique. I love Westminster, and my all-time favorite, hands-down, is War Horse Bar. Happy to have found this site. Blessings ~ Brian
@bjptrsn Welcome aboard sir.....I have a friend who I served with in the Navy from Green Bay, Frank Schmekel (spelling may be wrong, it was quite a while ago). GREAT guy, great stories of going to Lambeau Field since a baby. We had a good relationship and worked side by side for two years.
Need to come here more often to welcome the newcomers. Welcome all! Good to know our numbers as 'pipe smokers' is increasing ... even if it's just slightly. We are a rare breed, nearing extinction, so it's always great news when a newcomer to the groups is also new to the hobby.
Hello TPL. New pipe smoker from the Mississippi Delta. I seemingly woke up shortly after my 40th birthday and thought a pipe sounds nice. Tobacco has been one interesting rabbit hole these last few months.
