Agree whit Bloodhound61. Never taste any berry but the BCA really enhance the flavors. For me it is a good daily companion. Please, correct me if wrong, the mix 1Q+BCA is the same that Captain Black Gold, also made by Line.
I had a rather lengthy review that I did December 15, 2017. I just went through my postings and it does not seem to be on the site anymore
and I have no idea why. Suffice it to say, the Christmas Spice in a GREAT tobacco. I have actually cheated on several occasions and smoked it in my regular rotation. Today was actually the first day in weeks that I got to smoke a pipe.
My brain isn't working well these days. But it is working well enough to know the Sutliff Christmas Spice is an enjoyable experience. I think all of the Sutliff :Spice" family are good blends, and they all present pretty much the same profiles (at least to me). I think the Christmas Spice is one of the best of the family (I just checked my 'spreadsheet and I have another two pounds down in the cellar). The cinnamon and what I think is some nutmeg just makes it special to me.
I had done a review last December 15 when I first started smoking it. I went through my posts tonight to re share that post but it is nowhere to be found? I have it on my excel spreadsheet as a comment, but I don't know how to copy it to repost it here.
Anyway, it is a GREAT smoke o be enjoyed anytime.
I just pulled out a ready jar of Nording Hunter Labrador "hopefully" for tomorrow if all is good.
Semper fi (and if the Marines are SO special, how come you guys don't have your own boats?)
That surprised me as I KNOW it was there, and it got several responses that I recall reading and there were ensuing conversations back and forth. Perhaps someone does not like my style?
@Mangoandy@Bloodhound61 It seems to me if I mixed 1Q with BCA (BCA one of my favorites), it would be RLP-6 (another favorite)....which is, to me at least, Captain Black White without, or at least not as much, humectant.
@RockyMountainBriar I like CB Original quite a lot. I can't say that the BCA/1Q mix is identical to it but it is very close in character. When that's the kind of smoke I'm looking for, I'll reach for either one and be happy.
Started this morning with a good-sized eggs, sausage, fruit and toast with coffee breakfast. Getting ready to do some Creme Brulee in an Abb Brown ( @Corey562 )bent egg with a 2nd cup of java... Life is good...
Earlier this afternoon I smoked some Nording Hunters Blend Labrador in one of my large Medico Briars. As I have always thought, this is a great blend I would classify as a Danish Aromatic. The Hazelnut component is just awesome. Regarding the pipe, I think the Medico Briars smoke very well. I have four in my collection including the very first pipe I ever bought, a small "apple" which unfortunately is bitten through the stem, but I can still smoke that thing. As close as I can guess, I bought that pipe in 1965 (yes I am old) along with a pouch of Cherry Blend, on a snow day off of school. That is 55 years of piping which I have thoroughly enjoyed along with cigars as a diversion. Interestingly, I have smoked almost ALL aromatic blends with a few others thrown in purely for some diversity. Anyhow, hurry for Nording Labrador Blend, and so sad that it is gone with the McClelland closing.
@riobrusa I wouldn't say I corrected exactly, more like my two cents. I am not sure I am correct either. By the way, I think BCA is probably Captain Black Dark (not dark red, just dark). My four cents🙂
I am starting my day with LL Black Spice in a disrespectfully dirty Savinelli 626 pipe. Cinnamon and sugar. A great break from my normal Early Morning tobacco.

I hope you are feeling better......

I think Captain Black Gold is the same as 1Q, again the pouch has humectant, or at least a greater amount.

Thank you for correct me. I knew that 1Q/BCA was one of Captain Black line, just not sure with one.

Thanks for the tip @pappyjoe
My pleasure. Enjoy it.
