After a thorough cleaning and rest (I'm talking about BOTH me and the pipe 😏 ), I decided to do some Sunset Rum in my Abb Brown bent dinosaur egg... Man I love this pipe @Corey562 ...
Shared some hh Syrian last night with a friend. I wasn’t as keen on it last night as i was the previous time i smoked it, still enjoyable for the first Few minutes though.
Doing some Dulce de Leche in a Savinelli Estella 9904... A very pleasant blend with delicious room note... Also, it seems to produce a thicker smoke which tends to make me want to produce more smoke rings than usual...
Esoterica Pembrok in a S/N pipes rusticated half bent poker.
Note to all of you Esoterica fans, I had a serendipitous encounter with a regional sales Mgr. of Arango Cigar Co. last night. who told me that they had begun shipping Esoterica to vendors this week.
So if your in the market for some you may want to start looking next week.
Just finished a bowl of C.S. Shepherds pie on an unseasonably warm Sunday afternoon. A young couple I’ve been mentoring also came to chapel this morning. Much to be thankful for
Just tried Seattle Pipe Club Columbia River, I've had for some time, can't state any real positive comments, to me it tastes like nothing, nor much as far as room note goes.
Doing some Paladin Black Cherry with equal parts VG Black Cavendish in my one and only MM Cob. For me, the Paladin by itself tends to threaten tongue bite, whereas cutting it in half with Blk Cavendish mellows it out and makes for a much more enjoyable smoke...
Went totally old school today, smoking some Carter Hall in an old Dr. Grabow pipe. Thinking about mixing a little Russ' Fudge Cake with the Carter Hall for my next bowl just to add a little more sweetness to the smoke. Carter Hall is such a nice smooth smoke. Great for when I'm not looking for anything too sweet.
@motie2, I tried 1Q also simply because I heard one member say it tasted like a strawberry milk shake, So why not try it, no go with me. Different strokes-right?
1Q....Strawberry Milkshake??? Wow, my tastebuds must be waaay off. No berry flavor at all in 1Q for me. To me it is similar to Captain Black-Gold...which is like a much less sweet and has a more cigarette tobacco flavor than Captain Black-Original. I wonder if they mixed 1Q with CB Dark Red or something like that? Anybody else get a berry flavor from 1Q...just curious?
@RockyMountainBriar - I get zero berry flavor in 1Q Like @riobrusa I love a 50/50 of 1Q/BCA which gives me a vanilla scone aroma and flavor (well loved for public smoking) - but I've never picked up any strawberry flavor in the tobacco.
No berry flavor to 1Q for me but I don't get cig tobacco from it, either. It's just not a standout for my taste buds. That said, I do buy it and almost exclusively mix it 50/50 with BCA....I do enjoy that combo as an everyday sort of smoke. The black cavendish of the BCA bumps up the flavor nicely.
Just smoked a bowl of the Sutliff Christmas Spice this afternoon in a Jarl Briar which was a Christmas gift to me from my Parents while home on leave just about 50 years ago.....lots and lots of tobacco through that pipe.

That happens from time to time. Some years ago, I tried 1Q.
I found it.... uh.... Meh.

I had the same disappointment when I tried the highly touted 1Q. Tasted like nothing.... mostly like cigarette tobacco. Hardly an aromatic, IMHO.

Tell us about Christmas Spice, please?
