OK, OK, @opipeman Yes some of us are just lazy, I have a cocktail with a pipe each evening before dinner, maybe a beer or two or wine with dinner, and about 45 min before bed 4-6 oz of Madeira or Port to facilitate falling asleep.
Last night after supper I had me usual two fingers of the Irish. Today my bride will prepare cornbread and black eyed peas (a new year tradition) and I'll have my usual two fingers. Not exactly fitting the stereotype image, but it works for me.
@Londy3 Teeling is all that @opipeman drinks according to an earlier post.
There are a number of good, affordable (in my opinion) Irish Whiskeys available. I was given a bottle of Teelings, which is hard to find in stock down here, and I can see why opipeman drinks it. I have tried a number of different Jameson flavors and personally they should just stick to the original. Tullamore Dew is good also. I have tried and liked:
Knappogue Castle Sexton Redbreast Green Spot Powers Teelings
The Sexton is probably the least expensive one on the least and I don't really like the bottle but it seems to be readily available where I shop. I think it gets overlooked a lot because it is less expensive and some people equate quality with price.
The brand I have tried and consistently pass over when shopping for a good Irish is Proper 12 ("owned" by MMA Champion Conor McGregor).
@PappyJoe, @Londy3; Over the years I've tried a lot of Irish Whiskeys. For several years I drank only "Quite Man" and then I tried "Teeling". Taste in anything is subjective. When I find something I like, I stick with it. Whether its the Irish or women(58 years on July 3).
@opipeman No, I’m ok🙂 I need to get me some Teeling. I bough a couple of bottles of Bushmills…..it was nasty, even the aged stuff😖. Peated Whiskys/Whiskeys rank right up there with Latakia for me🤢
@PappyJoe, @opipeman Thank you sirs. I will have to try some on of these. I'm bourbon guy so this is a different thing all together. My wife does no like some Irish whiskey but not bourbon. Maybe I'll get her some today and get lucky tonight 😜
@RockyMountainBriar; Sorry I misunderstood, but you had me worried. I hate to spoil my image, but just between us Brothers, I only have about 2 fingers of the Irish each evening. On occasion I might have another. I should have said that Teeling is the only alcohol I drink.
@Londy3 it was pretty strong. Snuck up on me. Heavy stout flavor with a bit of sweetness to it. After the first sip it took a second or two before it sucker punched me in the mouth. Not one to drink too fast
@Zouave Meh, it's 9.1% I would expect a little of that. However, great brewers like VooDoo can make high test beer and you won't even know it... till.....
@Londy3 I'm a fan of Other Half brewery. They have a few locations if I'm not mistaken Brooklyn, one out my way in western NY and they are opening a third in DC. If you ever get the chance give them a try.
@Zouave I’m not a beer guy, but I would give that a try. One of the local breweries has a fall/holiday Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout that is pretty tasty. It usually goes pretty fast.

Are you and I the only two Brothers that drink on TPL?
Na, there are others they just don't post here for some reason.
Well lads, given me heritage, I think its required.
Teeling is all I drink. Let me know how you like it.
Hardcore! No water, tea, coffee, soda😬
Are you ill, Lad? Please tell me your are OK.
Excellent.
What's your favorite Irish whiskey? I only know of Jameson and Tullamore Dew

Yea, I was just “ragging” on ya🙂
I knew what you meant.
Sometimes I’m just not that funny.
Oh crap, can I use that term🤔
Too late now.
How is it?
With meself, you can use any term you want. I'm no woke snowflake.
