I have seen the Bripe before, it’s kinda cool. I thought about getting one. If I remember correctly though, they are kinda pricey. I am going to have to take another look. I should just make one, it can’t be that tough. It looks like it should make a Turkish, Greek or cowboy style of coffee.
$100= No $49.99=Maybe? Copper and Silver Solder are expensive, but I think I could make one similar for quite a bit less. If I could get one for less than $50 shipped, I would probably do that and avoid the hassle. Although, if I made my own, I might make it somewhat larger. Like the guy in the video, do I need one,no. Do I want one just because, yes😖. I have more dang ways to brew coffee.
Well, I was looking at estate pipes on SPC and saw this Musico Saddle Billiard #004-006-31134👍🏻 I decided to go look at the new Musico pipes to get an idea of what the prices of the new were. I am pretty sure I happened upon the exact @motie2 ’s “Guiness Pipe” in the SPC “portfolio” section of Musico pipes. Type the stock #002-008-0006 in the SPC website search bar, take a gander and see what you think🙂
@motie2 As I said earlier, it's too early to tell. I bought it because I have seen it mentioned in a facebook group and decided to try it. I've only had two pours from the bottle so far. The whiskey itself is the "brainchild" of Conor McGregor, a MMA fighter. It is not a whiskey that has been distilled specifically for him, but one that is blended using whiskey from several other distilleries. That's the same knock I have on a lot of bourbons made in a variety of U.S. states. Instead of distilling their own, the buy new make or young whiskey and then blend and age it.
The nose is light and floral but in my opinion, the ethanol shows up more. It does taste like an inexpensive Irish whiskey, I get a tart apple taste and maybe a honey sweetness but its very light on the vanilla flavor. It does start out fairly smooth upfront but I do get an alcohol burn at the back of my throat. I can understand that from a higher proof whiskey but this is on 40% ABV or 80 Proof. It should be smoother.
On the other hand, this is a light whiskey which won't distract from anything you smoke. I had two different bowls while drinking it - HU Tillerman and Peterson's Sherlock Holmes. I thought the Tillerman brought out more of the sweetness from the Proper 12 but with the Sherlock Holmes, I may have well been drinking water.
So, what are my thoughts on Proper 12? I will drink what I have but won't buy it again. There are too many other Irish Whiskeys in the $25 - $35 price range that are so much better.
I’m thinking some Planta Anno MMXV “Brazilian Mixture” or some Panama Jack “Key Lime” might have paired better with the Gin Ricky🤔. The Peterson’s “Sunset Breeze” is ok though👍🏻
Sorry I missed the virtual herf tonight was at the local shop to see how things were going. Apparently they are just about sold out of Red Queen V, Dix and Whiskey Dix. I have to go in tomorrow and make more and do a wholesale order for the next batch. Crazy!
Herf: (verb) to smoke a cigar, in a group of cigar smokers or alone. (noun) a gathering of smokers in one location. The term “herf” was coined during the mid-1990's cigar boom. It is the unofficial word of the website alt. cigar.

I like the brand name and aging method of the beer, but, when it comes to coffee I'll stick with my SCA certified Braun!
eBay has ‘em for around $100.00
Amazon has bailed.

Sipping some A&W (with aged vanilla), while sipping some Tinderbox Captain Spice in my Sultan meer...
You're drinking it; you must like it. Could you share your thoughts on Proper 12?
Too early to tell. First time to try Proper 12 but it is smooth enough to sip neat with no ice. Paired well with he Tillerman I was smoking.

My father, of blessed memory, frequently commented that - because of my voratious teen appetite - I was “a common sewer.”
