Tried the HU Tillerman first in a clay and a second bowl in a briar I have dedicated for flakes. I’m really sorry HU doesn’t sale in the U.S. this may be the best flake I’ve ever smoked!
@RockyMountainBriar I posted a link to my review on Blossom Temptation in the tobacco reviews discussion. Is it good? I've already started my wish list for my next order from Esterval. Blossom Temptation is on the list already.
As for Rattray's Caribbean Dream, @motie2 would probably like it. I smoked my first two bowls of it yesterday and enjoyed the light coconut, mango and vanilla flavoring. I paired it with some R.L. Seale's 10 Year Old Aged Rum (over ice with a splash of coconut water) which enhances the flavors of the tobacco. Or was it the tobacco that enhanced the rum? Either way it was good.
@motie2 Exotic Passion is still my favorite orange flavored aromatic. My latest review is for Blossom Temptation and its now my favorite cherry blend.
The Caribbean Dream is coconut, mango vanilla but like the Passion and Temptation doesn't hit you over the head with the flavoring.
In a month or two, I'm going to open a tin of HU Chinas Heaven which is supposed to be a tangerine/coconut aromatic blend and Poul Winslow No. 1 which is flavored with coconut, vanilla and Jamaican rum.
@motie2 Yes, you may. But the good news is I've emailed someone I know at Arango - one of the major distributor for pipe tobacco - and he said they would see if they can order the Rattray blends. He said HU tobacco refuses to distribute outside of Europe because they don't produce enough yearly. Right now HU just does enough for the European market.
@PappyJoe Is there a trick to getting tobacco from Esterval's? I went to the site and found the Indigo, but there was nothing to click on to add it to my cart?
@RockyMountainBriar I just checked. I signed in and went to the W.O. Larsen selections. You have to click on the Buy Now button to put it in your basket.
@PappyJoe Yea..no, there was not a "Buy it now" button. I had not set up an account, so that is probably the key. Thanks @PappyJoe. I see the price is much less for you when it is actually in the cart. Hopefully that is not your personal discount for being such a nice guy...if so, it looks like it is still going to cost me dearly, I'm not that nice I am a bit scared off at the original price.
@RockyMountainBriar Once you set up your account and start looking at the blends, look on the right side and there should be a place to select the currency you want to view.
If you Virginia lovers haven't tried the Wessex line of Virginia flakes, you are missing out. Very nice stuff, both the Brown and the Red. Highly recommend.
@mfresa Gold Virginia Flake was my favorite but they seem to have over done the casing recently. I have some Dark Flake cellared another great offering from them. Have you tried Hamborger Veermaster from Dan Tobacco, that seems to be both tasty and consistent.

Sounds like I am going to have to find me some Peachtree. I have some Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. “American Peach” that is pretty darn good.
Have you tried Briarwork's Peach Cobbler?
Just stay away from the old Lane John Rolfe Peach Brandy blend. Bites worse than Middleton Cherry blend, itself a barracuda

Once you set up your account and start looking at the blends, look on the right side and there should be a place to select the currency you want to view.
With regard to VaPers: the standards are Escudo and Elizabethan Mixture, IMHO
They also have Savinelli Juno another Virginia Flake and Giubilio d'Oro a Virginia Latakia Flake that I enjoy!
