Smoking some of the “Loot” I received today, C&D Small Batch “Eight State Burley”. This blend of their “floor sweepings”/“Left Over” tobaccos? sounded like just my type of blend. Burley’s, Bright Virginia, Red Virginia, and some Orientals to top it off, and NO Latakia to screw it up😬. Definitely a tasty blend for me. Stuffed it in my little, old, Peterson System Deluxe 12 1/2s.
Some Casey Jones "Last Ride" in my bent "The Pipe", which smokes the coolest of all my "The Pipe" shapes. The bowl gets pretty warm, but the stem and smoke is very cool.
Started up some Drucquer Levant in an MM Rob Roy while closing up the chickens, ducks and turkeys. Now sitting back and enjoying the rest of it with a Vermouth and sparkling water. We're having a dank rainy holiday weekend, but after that the weather looks great!
@mapletop, I enjoy Newminster 400 on occasion. I wish it had less casing to let the Virginia shine through. I never tasted any Burley in the Flake.
Earlier, I smoked a bowl of 4th Gen Peaty Kentucky in a hurricane Lovat while cruising around in my Jeep. This evening over at my brothers I loaded a Yello-Bole Carburetor Lovat with some C&D Espresso, while enjoying some grilled brats, hotdogs, and good company.
I opened a tin of GH Broken Scotch Cake yesterday. In wasn't topped and there was no flavor to any casing, but it was sweet. It has the texture or a ribbon that was cut with a dull knife or maybe hatchett. I actually flattened out a small single piece of a leaf. All that aside once I lit my pipe I was blown away by the sweet natural tasting bright Virginia blend. For a GH it dries quickly and I just lit my second pipe. If it stays close to this at the bottom of the tin I'm going to add a new permanent member to my tobacco bar!
@Balisong I recently tried that blend (GH Broken Scotch Cake) for the first time also, though the tin I got was portended to be from 2012, in any case my reaction was similar to yours.
After chores I relaxed with some Drucquer Levant in an MM Diplomat. Just finished moving some ducklings from the hatcher to the brooder and breaking down a chicken for this evenings extended family pulled chicken dinner. The wife made some chicken chips with the skin.
Onto some GH DVC in an MM Pride.
@mapletop, you might like this. I think the casing for the cavendish is plum, it smells like old Dunhill Flake and like the Dunhill doesn't flavor the tobacco, only adds sweetness.

@mapletop I love that flake, finished two tins new. I can't wait for it to be available!
Just finished some Levant, deciding which unflavored Cavendish to move on to. DVC or BBC 🤔
So far, so good...
... And my eye immediately goes to the luxardos in the background 🤣🥃
Great Pictures!

Smooth tropical fruit and cherry….. nice cool smoke.
How do you like LL7?
Got done building a shed.
Relaxing now with some Mark Twian in my Mark Twian. Got me some Bulliet 10 year old bourbon 😉 at my side.
