@opipeman I sold a pipe very similar to your Ben Wade 200. I had two Ben Wade Made in Denmark pipes and decided to sell one of them. The ones stamped Made in Denmark were made by Preben Holm, one of the great Danish Freehand carvers.
@PappyJoe; I have three all stamped "Made in Denmark" and had no idea they were made by Preben Holm. I've had them all for at least 40 years. Thanks for the information. You are the man!
@opipeman From pipedia.org: "He was among the first Danish artisans who made "Danish pipe design" famous in the USA in the 1960's. More than that he was one of the very first carvers who exceeded this moderate Danish design which based on the classical shapes. "Chaising the grain" they turned out wild and dramatic fancy pipes. Combining smooth with blasted surfaces, showing big areas of the original bark at the top of the bowl and at the end of the stem, these pipes were quite shocking to many elder and more conservative pipesmokers."
Preben Holm was contracted by Lane Ltd. to make pipes starting around 1972. Since another distributor (Snug Harbor) still had a number of Preben Holm pipes to sale, the decision was made to use the Ben Wade name on the pipes made for Lane Ltd. Eventually the Ben Wade named pipes were phased out and the Preben Holm name was used again. Holm made pipes under contract to Lane limited until around 1985. He passed away in 1986.
A bunch of old cronies get together every Monday (weather permitting), and become hackers for 18 holes. Today was the day... 2 bowls of County Cork in a refurbed Mr. Brog Maestro 81. I have found that playing 18 holes of golf is usually a 2 bowl problem...😏
Did Boswell Majestic 586 today, still experimenting with Boswells Aromatics, have narrowed it down to about 5 or 6 I really like. Some not so good, for my tastes anyway.
Did the Great Lakes Smoke Show pod cast, the guys had Lee Von Erek pipe maker extraordinaire on the show, smoked a few bowls of GLP Abingdon followed by some C&D Billy Budd in a Peterson XL 90 and a Mario Grande acorn
Why do I not see the business end of a M14 in that bag? That would be excusable IF you have your 1911 on your hip. You never know who might be hiding in the sand traps or in the rough........

Is the stem original, or an add-on?
Like to see a few more views of that pipe in the "pipe refinishing" thread...

Sitting outside in the cooler air brought by the thunderstorm that missed us and enjoying some Peretti English 110 in a Missouri Pride.
Doing some Sutliff Christmas Spice in a MM Emerald...

Let me know how your tongue tolerates the alternative.
