Having a bowl of Sunset Rum in the only "long-stemmed" pipe I own (a Hilson Viva 201) in honor of the passing of Christopher Tolkien. He was 95... He loved his father's fantasy worlds, and spent a great portion of his life researching, editing and publishing some of his father's works which we can now enjoy... Thank you Christopher Tolkien...
Enjoyed a bowl of Hearth & Home White Knight. It’s the first time I’ve tried this blend. It’s a very nice smoke. Less Latakia and lighter than Sasieni but the orientals are fantastic. It leaves a strong incense room note. It would be a home run if it were a fine ribbon cut.
Had some Russ Black Jack today, be damned if I figure out the taste. Only had a couple of bowls so far and if things don’t change not sure I will purchase again. No disrespect to Russ, I like a lot of his blends.
C&D Opening Night in my favorite Peterson (302 system bent apple). I actually have two of these (rusticated and smooth). They're both the coolest, driest briar pipes I own. Opening Night is also amazing if you like simple, clean Virginia's. This was a personal recommendation by Jon David Cole, and he did not stir me wrong.

This really is a good blend combo...
Earlier today I smoked a bowl of McClelland 5100 in a small Peterson system.
