Just smoked a bowl of Sutliff “Irish Coffee” D65 in the Pete Short #264. Now that the nasty bowl coating glue has been removed, this pipe is smoking nice and dry. No stem gurgling, no swimming pool in the heel, and a nice thin layer of carbon/ash cake...beautiful.
This morning, after shoveling 4 inches of snow that fell overnight, I cleared part of the rear deck, fired up my word burning chimenea, and enjoyed a bowl from my frankenblend jar, consisting mostly of RLP-6, BCA, VBC, BP, VC, and smaller amounts of Blackhouse, Balkan Sasieni, Gaslight, Lagonda, and FoxHound, the latter English blends provided to me as generous samples, by my TPL friends.
Exquisite!!!! Almost let me forget the dog bite and the sciatica.
Doing some Lane BCA in what now has become my favorite pipe: an @Corey562 dino egg. Enjoying it with a cup of McCafe home brew coffee. What a way to start your day...
@motie2 It is a good smoke, and has a very nice room note. The fruit flavors are much less noticeable, but it is a nice smoking blend. It is definitely not Exotic Passion, but for those that think Exotic Passion has a chemical flavor or is too over-the-top, this might fit the bill. I think I have had a tobacco that is very similar, maybe one of the Peterson limited editions or a W.O.Larsen limited edition. It is very familiar in both flavor, mix and cut to some other? tobacco I have. If I find it/remember it, I will try to remember to let you know. I think @PappyJoe had similar thoughts on it?
Enjoying a home made version of C&D Orient Express (50/50 blend on Odessa and Pirate Kake) except when I make it its a little heaver on the Odessa. in a rusticated Peterson 303 system pipe
So after my wife worked late we decided to go out for pizza and as usual I filled two smaller pipes, one for traveling each way.
Due to much conversation (hype?) on TPL about C&D Jolly Old St. Nicolas last year during the holiday I bought a tin that sat in the cellar till today.
Note: I smoke few aromatics but do like Barbados Plantation, HGL, Queen Ann's Revenge, and a few others. I usually only smoke 1 or 2 bowls a week.
So on the ride home I fired it up and I have say, either you guys are high, my sense of smell and taste are farther gone than I thought or some how I got a bad tin.
When I opened the tin it smelled great, but when smoked it tasted like it was flavored with soap; I asked my wife what she thought of the aroma and she said it smelled like soap to her as well.
It is extremely rare that I will pitch tobacco, but in this instance there just no way to fix / re blend it.
Its free to anyone who wants it but it seems hardly worth the cost of the shipping.

Not many more of these days left...
This little Pete is smoking nice and dry now, great little pipe👍🏻
So, how's that Holger Danske orange. Does it compare to Rattray's Exotic Passion (fka Exotic Orange)?
Enjoying it with a cup of McCafe home brew coffee.

That’s a beautiful pipe, @KA9FFJ & @Corey562.
Baby, it’s cold outside
Freakishly weird smelling tobacco, but a really delicious smoke.
I was gifted four ounces, but I’ve already ordered more to cellar.
