Smoking some Rattray’s “Exotic Passion” in my handmade Stubby Dublin. I am trying it as I originally designed it as a reverse calabash tonight....no inserts. Smoking smooth and dry👌🏻
Tonight I'm smoking Captain Earle's Nightwatch in my Peterson 01. Currently giving my pipe blog a much MUCH needed overhaul by adding pages with direct links to specific entries. Even though I've been at it for a few years, I'm still getting the hang of building a website. With all the entries I've posted, I've realized my site was a bit of a mess, and needed some sort of linking system. I still have a ways to go, but hopefully people that stop in for a visit will have a better way to navigate my page.
Opened a tin of C&D Burley Flake # 4 a few days ago and have smoked 4 bowls thus far, and while it tastes petty good with the addition of a condimental amount of latakia; this blend messes with me as though it had a fair amount of perique in it.
It has an above average Nic hit which is not a problem for me but it plays hell with my sinuses. A New addition to the Franken blend container.
C&D Carolina Red Flake in my Stanwell bent egg on the back porch of a Starbucks in Raleigh, NC. I asked and they said it was fine. I bought a drink first... of course.
@ motie2, my feeling exactly concerning Eartfarthing, have only tried Panna Cotta once, definitely will purchase again, nice blend. Getting back with you on Sutliff Black Vanilla,it’s ok, nothing that would knock your socks off. Just tried it to try it.
@mfresa good ole Raleigh! We will have to link up before I leave Fort Bragg this summer. But then again, I may have trouble breaking away from the babies
Gentlemen I have some Sutliff Black Vanilla in my collection here, and have just been reminded that I have yet to smoke it having receieved it back in April......I am slipping here. My only comment is that I have found that the vast majority of the Sutlif Blends with either the name "Black" or "Spice" are very ggod smokes. The only minor dissapointment that I have had is Sutliff Voodoo Queen (sort of like "Black" or "Spice" at least in my world), but that had Latakia and I still gave it a 7.5/10 even with my having to sort of sneak up on the "L" word.....(but I am getting there). I think my very favorite Sutliff "Spice" blend is their "Christmas Spice" which I love. And yes I do smoke it all year because Santa Claus said it was OK. And, if HE says it is OK it is OK.
And Gordan when i get my VA Disability Check in a couple weeks I am going for some "PennaCotta" (sp?) and some "East Farthing" on your recommendation.
Everyone stay warm and smoke 'em if you got "em. See ya...
I sliced off some GL Pease “Temple Bar” and stuffed it in my Radice Silk Cut billiard tonight. As a side note, this straight razor works well to cut plugs.....it sucks as a razor. I have tried to get it sharp enough to shave with, I guess the metal is just too crappy. I’ll stick to my antique straight razors for shaving. This one looks good in pictures and cuts tobacco with authority though🙂.
This Temple Bar is a bit sour and a bit spicy, I like it.
While out running errands today, I enjoyed a bowl of Balkan Sasieni in a MM Washington cob with a forever stem. I've been grabbing this pipe a lot lately.
Enjoyed a bowl on the rear deck.... a glorious day, temp 50 degrees EA Carey Revolution Tabac, enlivened by being sealed in a jar for a month with a FMC barrel stave cube I had soaked in rum. Pipe was a large EA Carey billiard... the one that came from eBay with a terrifying Lat ghost. The cube trick works!
@jfreedy@Londy3 Meeting together like that is so awesome! It gives me a good feeling when I see brothers of the briar get together... especially when they're also TPL brothers as well... I'm hoping some of the TPL members will start planning to attend the St. Louis pipe show in February so we can meet and enjoy each other's company... By the way Londy, nice lid. It puts you in the same category as @PappyJoe... DAPPER...

Take note of @buflosab’s comments on Black Vanilla, above.

Genius mix! I’ve just added Presbyterian mixture to my Elfster wish list.
