Tried the Scotty ButterNut blend,@pwkarch,I know you’re taste buds are superior to mine, Butternut is a good blend, but it doesn’t match up to Vanilla Custard in my opinion.I wish I could say otherwise, just not feeling it..
@buflosab Hey Sab....I don't think my taste buds are any better than anyone else. Much like we enjoy different things, like different music, whiskey, beer, music, etc., we are all different and have different likes and dislikes. I agree Sutliff Vanilla Custard to be top shelf, one of or my favorite blend. The Scottys' Butternut Burley is a very different taste being Burley v. Black Cavendish in the SVC. My comment was rlative to the SBB being a very enjoyable blend that I am enjoying very much. Tomorrow, I might be right back to the Vanilla.
I started off with Almost Heaven (bulk blend from King Street Emporium, Martinsburg, WV) in a Missouri Meerschaum bent. It is similar to Boswell's Best Buy with a slight spicy note I haven't figured out.
The second pipe was 221B Baker St. (King Street Emporium )in an old Dr Grabow I've had for about 20+ years. 221B Baker St. is a medium English that IMHO is better than Dunhill Mixture Medium. The floral notes of the orientals hang in there throughout the bowl and it is more forgiving of being overheated. It is great when you purchase it and it gets better and age.
Don't worry @Motie2 the humidity is so high the house is like a walk in humidor. I'll probably use them up before they dry out.
Peterson Luxury Blend is a mild blend of three different Virginias, Black Cavendish and Burley. It's supposed to have an aroma of orange (which I can barely detect, but it's there). Peterson's Luxury blend states it has flavors of honey and a touch of vanilla. I do detect them both.
Remembering I suffered from countless sinus infections during my childhood, teens and early adult life, it has affected my sense of smell and taste. Keeping that in mind: It's strength is mild Very pleasant room note Fairly robust flavor, without being harsh... IMHO...
@jfreedy I startled my wife when I almost busted a gut concerning your above comment to @pipeman83 😂 However, I would wager he has as great smoker there...
Had some Xmas Spice today, it has been awhile. @pwkarch, hey I understand your point.Your reviews are informative, interesting, and well thought out, always read them with great interest. keep them coming.

Every aromatic smokes better with a littlle bit of Latakia. Works with Lagonda, Nightcap, Fox Hound, King's Frog Morton, Sextant, and FMC.

That tobacco sounds interesting. What does it smoke like?
