And catching some fish while smoking? Badger, do you fish that water, and if so (or not) what is in there? Looks like something I would want to do while smoking a pipe.
@ghostsofpompeii Aye, it's one of my favorite smoking spots after work when I need to clear my head. The only downside are the mobs of mosquitoes we have around here. In the summer, I have to drench myself with Off if I want to keep my blood in my body.
@pwkarch I don't do much fishing these days, but this house belongs to my grandma, which my wife and I rent so we can keep up the property. When I was younger, I'd come up here with my family and go fishing off the pier. I don't recall all the fish we have in the channel, but we definitely have catfish, and I believe bluegills. We have more than that, but that's all I can recall off the top of my head. We have some friends that want to go fishing here, so I'll probably be able to fish while smoking my pipe later this summer.
Beautiful here in the St. Louis area! Decided to have a second bowl... Doing some Peterson Luxury in an Abb Brown Dinosaur egg... Thanks @Corey562, a GREAT pipe!
@KA9FFJ ~ What a Fantastic pipe! You can't find a nicer pipe than an Abb Brown. I have 2 that I love. I should smoke them more. Great smoking pipes and gorgeous craftsmanship. Almost too nice to smoke!
I've been smoking GLP Lagonda all day. What a full, rich lat forward blend. Another GLP home run that I'll keep adding to the cellar.
The past couple of days have been wet and cool. I'm sitting in back smoking some Captain Black Cherry with my after dinner coffee. For the first time in days it is a nearly prefect evening. It's in the 70s, clear, low humidity, and there is a slight breeze. I might have to drag out one of my bigger pipes and make an evening of it.
I'm savoring my way though a bowl of Captain Black Classic and drinking a cup of tea while listening to the mocking bird's evening concert. This perfect weather won't last. Rain tomorrow.
@buflosab Russ' "Warm Up" has one of the best tin notes of all my blends. I have a lot of different great smelling aromatics - but "Warm Up" might be my favorite as far as tin note goes. Great room note and flavor as well. I think I have more "Warm Up" in my cellar than any other blend.
I was going through a phase of only smoking more expensive tinned tobacco like my East India Trading Company blends (and "Wild Hare" which isn't all that expensive), and was neglecting all those bulk blends I have stored in Mason jars ... like many of the Russ Blends and my Sutliff stash. But a few evenings ago I pulled out a Mason jar of "Warm Up" and that great aroma made a beeline towards my nostrils and I remembered why I have so much of the stuff in my cellar.
Pumpkin Spice is another favorite of mine. I tend to smoke it mainly during the Fall ... but manage a few bowls throughout the year as well.
Tonight I had Peter Stokkebye Luxury English blend in my blue Molina bent Pipe. Very peaceful on my back porch watching the light rain, cool breeze and the woods.
On my way home from work tonight I had GLP Lagonda in a Carey Meerschaum. Man this is a great blend! If you like lat forward blends, I highly recommend it. I'll be adding more of this to my cellar soon.
