TCS “Second Breakfast” after an actual second breakfast. Created a menu today fit for a Hobbit. Baked some Elven Lemba bread last night. Breakfast to supper is lined up with LOTR themed tobaccos. I hardly know anything about Tolkien’s work. It has intrigued me the last few days though. Especially all the food stuff. Lol.
Shortcut To Mushrooms after my luncheon in the HIS briar. Tea time for the Belmont Stakes and now Frog Morton on the Town after a short walk. Supper in a few hours then Gray Havens to bring the evening to a close.
And how are you? We have missed you as well and were worried about you. Just like Motie we need you in the fold here, and when you disappear for a stretch everyone gets anxious about you.
I hope and trust things are going better for you at this time.
I sort of "rediscovered" CB Original here, about 2 months ago. It STILL is a quality smoke, and a quality smoke in every pipe with which I smoked it. Truth be known, I used to smoke the CB Gold years ago and got away from it for reasons unknown to me at this time. However, I love this original, it is economical, burns great (perhaps a little quickly), and it both tastes and has a wonderful aroma (confirmed by nearby "snifers").
This diversion has taken the heat off of my other regualr blends (no pun intended). The fact is, I can be less careful with this blend such as leaving a pouch in my truck, bag, etc.
And for your edification, the Lane RLP6 is (according to "reliable sources") Captain Black Original albeit without the humectant added to the pouch variety. Although CB Original is available on some sites in bulk (or so they claim) but I bet it is RLP6 just sold at a slightly lower cost (marketing?). The 12 ounce tins of CBO typically run about $40-$45 or so, about 2 weeks ago Pipes and Cigars had the 12 ounce cans on sale for $26 per. I was tobacco purchase broke so I could not take advantage of that sale unfortunately.
As we have heard and read so many times "there is a reason it has been around so long".
@pwkarch, I completely agree with your assessment of the CB Original. I was jarring some pouches I had accumulated and of course had to sample it. It turned out to be almost the only thing I smoked this weekend. Sweet, but not overly, and without a distinct flavor of any one casing you could put your finger on. Kind of goes with anything, which is, I'm guessing, exactly for what they're shooting. (All please note the placement of the preposition there)
I also noticed it was a very easy smoke and, as you said, a little fast. Maybe a 30 minute smoke where you'd expect a 40.
That sale at P&C is apparently good through June....I may have to take advantage and also buy a little RLP-6 to compare. This could be a daily favorite.
Kudos on the placement of the preposition. And kudos on the CB assessment. I think we need to keep this quiet to a degree or else we will cause a "tobacco run".
Are you telling me I can still get a 14oz. can @ $26 from P&C until the end of this month?
@pwkarch, well it seems to be a 12 ouncer for $30....so the deal isn't quite as good as what you found, but it does apparently seem to be on sale thru the end of June.
Gatlinburlier Mellow Moonshine in a Big Ben Crosley. Supposed to be topped with peach brandy but the peach part is barely detectable while the brandy part is slightly more noticeable. Smokes cool for me with no bite. Nice room note.

I’m currently smoking McConnell’s Honeydew in my Marcus Cob while enjoying the cooler evening tonight.
