Doing a little reading with Iwan Reis Dr. Bradley in my Briar Works Classic C71 Rusticate Poker that I got for doing the slow smoke contest at the recent Chicago Pipe Show.
Just Recieved a tin of C&D Irish Blessing from TobaccoPipes, nice blend, unique taste, haven't been able to put my finger on how to describe as of yet.First time with this blend.
Mail call today! Packed C&D “Deacon’s Downfall.” I am enjoying this better than my last C&D purchase of Sam’s Blend. Have a tin of SPC Puget Sound for later. I’ll reserve that for a Celtics victory this evening. Lol. Probably be open before game time.
@KA9FFJ, ha ha on the Creme Brulee! I'm normally not an aro guy but sometimes I like it for the room note...(that way my wife doesn't look at me funny and start waving her arms around and gaging..lol)
Well, finally finished all the yard work and decided to take a pipe break. 97° right now but ok in the shade with some breeze. I just fired up my new (and only) MM Cob with some Black Cavendish. So far, so good... I think I could get used to this pipe...
@mfresa I tried some Bullseye flake for the first time at the St. Louis pipe show this past February and was very impressed how smooth sand mellow the blend is. I haven't acquired any yet, but it is on my list... Good choice...
@KA9FFJ, yes it is the first time for me as well. The Virginias are on the bright side, but half way through the bowl the cavendish makes it's presence known, overshadowing the grassy notes (to some extent) of the Virginias. It is a nice change of pace for me, as I have been hitting the English blends pretty steadily for the last 6 months.
@Londy3, I am beginning to see a consensus on Creme Brûlée.....my wife never complains about tobacco, but she always compliments when she smells that one. I am thinking some younger, single pipe smokers could use this to their advantage.
A scorcher here today. Heat index hit 99. It's finally cool enough on the back porch to enjoy a bowl of Balkan Sasieni. Sasieni and Balkan Supreme seem to be my "go to" smokes lately. Any suggestions on a good strong Balkan I should try to mix it up a little?
@jfreedy ~ This is the bulk Balkan Supreme made by Stokkebye for Arango. Not from McCrainie's but it's carried by all of the online tobacconists. Is McCrainie's a house blend?

Did some Crème Brulee (yes @Londy3 I copied your last selection) in a repaired, refurbished, rusticated black Cortina full bent.
Tomorrow I'll be trying out my new MM Rob Roy with Danish style stem. In 50 years, I have never smoked a cob, so I guess it's about time...
