@PappyJoe What were your thoughts on the Peterson Hyde Park? I purchased a tin recently and after several bowls, I'm still on the fence as to if I actually enjoy it or not.
@Pipefreak2383. Just curious. What blend are you smoking now that gives you tongue bite? Maybe try a black cavendish like Lane BCA or Scotty's Bass Pond. Both aromatics that are easy on the tongue if you are a fast puffer.
Just got back in from more snow shoveling and this time I took my pipe with me for company. Since the snow was too deep and heavy I wasn't huffing and puffing, so though smoking a bowl while working was safe. Brought my old work pipe - a Dr. Grabow Silver Duke, and in it some Cornell & Diehl 'MM3 Curse Of Mixture Monster" a tin I bought for the Halloween season. Nice smoke but got a bit of a nic hit while shoveling at about the bottom of the bowl so I cut it short.
This was the first tobacco I bought in San Diego, CA from Racine & Laramie of Old Town. Threw the original bag away, but I’m storing it temporarily in a Mason jar. I have been buying the jars with the tops that clamp shut. Other more important blends have gone directly into those I can afford for now.
@ocpunk714 canning jars with the 2 part lids are a staple for collaring tobacco on long term basis. The bail-Type jars that clamp down are good for about a year as long as the seal doesn’t dry out and crack.
Giving some My Mixture 965 a shot today. Got the bowler hat out today and figured that when I don't have a place to put down my pipe, the hat was perfect!
