@buflosab I really enjoy CB Copper. For me it is very mild and aromatic... Very pleasant... I'd love to try that Tropical Cavendish. I'm very partial to Cavendish...
@BlueCollarBastard - I like them too. I started out only buying bent pipes (mostly Peterson’s). But now I’ve branched out and see the value in various styles and shapes. I love my cobs too. They’re always a good smoke.
McClelland 5100 Red Cake - yes THAT McC 5100 - in a rusticated Savinelli Onda Canadian. A local B&M shop here had a five pound bag of McC 5100 somehow. A bunch of us snapped up some of it right quick. I'm actually not an enormous Virginia-only fan, but this has some complexity that is nice.
@KA9FFL I'm not as familiar with bulk Lane tobacco blends as I am Sutliff. The Lane products I'm the most familiar with are the Captain Black blends. And as for a blend comparable to Sutliff's Crème Brulee I'd suggest Molto Dolce. And it's currently being offered at Smokingpipes.com for something like 5.99, which is the cheapest I've ever seen it offered for since I started smoking it. If I didn't already have about five or six tins of it already, I'd order a few more tins.
@mfresa I don't doubt I will. I've got a bag of their Texas Tea that they debuted here at the Texas Pipe Show. My neighbor, who I convinced to take up the pipe, got Seersucker and Second Breakfast. I'm more of a non aromatic guy, but have been coming around to the aromatics.
Well, I WAS thinking about having a bowl of Molto Dolce until I saw @KA9FFJ post about CB Copper. A great blend to enjoy and break in a @Corey562 pipe.
Mixed and dried out some of my Captain Black/Dr. Charlie. Put it in Tupperware with a coffee filter I soaked with hand squeezed apple, a dusting of cinnamon and drizzle of caramel. Folded it into a little pouch separated in the container. Let it dry out. Got a very fragrant caramel smell out of it.
Threw it in a mason jar for 24 hours with about 2 1/2 oz more of the tobacco mix. Now it has a very rich caramel smell from the Ghiradelli drizzle. I plan to let it sit for awhile.
