@RockyMountainBriar mmm, fruitcake...I thought I was the only one that likes traditional fruitcake! All those candied fruits from 350 BC...mmm. My mother would pour dark rum over it and let it sit for a day...she and I were the only ones in our family that would eat it.

I decided to make some Salted Caramel with Bourbon and Pecans Pudding from scratch this evening. It’s taking all the restraint I have to let the pudding cool in the fridge before I “woof” it down.
@PappyJoe This is the second batch! For the first batch we could only find reduced fat Eggnog and they were good. This time we had the good Eggnog and they're excellent!
I paint and draw and refinish furniture. This year I’ve started two reupholstering projects. One I should finish today and the other I will finish next week.
I decided to “modify” the grip on my new (I have not even shot it yet) Akela PCP .22 cal. airgun today. I hated the finger grooves and the stippling, even though the finger grooves looked cool, the stippling…not so much. I hate finger grooves on nearly any firearm, they are never in the right place for me. These were exceptionally uncomfortable. I also relieved some “high” spots where my palm, one of my thumb knuckles, my trigger finger, and my middle finger under the trigger guard were being pinched. It’s awesomely comfortable now👍🏻
The only exception with comfortable finger grooves are the factory combat grips on my S&W 629 Classic DX, they fit me perfectly.
For some reason, the pictures keep displaying in reverse order🤔
@Londy3 Took the Dremmel with a sanding drum to it, then rasp and files, then hand sanded to 150 grit. My shoulder was killing me, so I didn’t sand any smoother. I then rubbed my beeswax, mineral oil, carnauba wax mixture into it. Much like my pipes though, it is meant to be used so it is good enough. It is much more user (me anyway) friendly now.
I decided to roll out some old tobacciana today, and yes, it may look a bit sketchy as far as what is in the cigarillos? I promise, it’s not maryjane😖. Anyway, the RAW rolling paper is the only one that I found that comes in this length, even though it is still one cig short for the old roller. By the way, it took me quite awhile to figure out how this rolling machine worked when I first got it. I wanted it to roll pipe tobacco cigarillos. I loaded and rolled some “Half and Half” and then I decided to use another old piece of tobacciana that I bought to add to my WDC collection..this great little briar cigarette…cigarillo? holder. I have to say, I have used “normal” rolling papers for little pipe tobacco cigarillos before, but this RAW paper does not impart the weird taste of normal rolling papers when it burns. These smoke like a pipe in this holder, except for the fact that I have to keep “dumping” the ash. This holder does not have a stinger or filter of any kind, just a Dunhill-esk innertube. No, that is not a “roach” in the ashtray, it’s a “butt”. Maybe I’ll try some Velvet next, it’s what my dad smoked when he rolled his own…maybe in his pipe too, although he only smoked a pipe for a very short time before I was born. The only reason I know he smoked a pipe was because of old pictures and the lightly used pipe he had in his top dresser drawer. My youngest brother has the pipe now. The ashtray is from The Red Rock Villiage in Miles City, Montana, a dinner club and motel that one of my Uncle’s on my dads side owned for many, many years. My cousins (his sons) still own Red Rock Sporting Goods in Miles City. Well, they did, their son/son’s may run/own it now?
I smoked those four “cigarillos” and there was so many big “roaches”…..I mean butt’s, that I decided to stuff them in my Pete Golden Meer and burn’em. They’re kind of a bitch to keep lit, and the first few draws pulled some cold ash😖. There is quite a bit of moisture in the butts too. That sounded nasty😳. I have a “Flat White” made with the Ethiopian coffee beans I roasted to pair with it.
I snagged an old Crosman 140 .22 caliber pump-up airgun this week. It is in great shape,. It was made between 1956-1962, which makes it at least two years older than myself. It works well too. Sadly, it was not packaged for shipping very well and the front barrel plug/band/sight was broken in shipping. It is the only damn plastic part on the gun, and, of course, it is about the only part that a replacement can’t be found. I decided to try to use a front sight/band/plug from a new Crosman 1322 pistol pump-up airgun. All I had to do was drill a new hole for the pivot pin a little farther back, works like a charm👍🏻
I’m thinking about trying to machine a steel replacement similar to this one. I would buy this one, but they want $75 for it, which is probably a decent price, but I like a challenge, and I am not sure the “ears” on this one are long enough for me to modify..
Fired off some pellets in the house at 12’-15’ checking velocity’s with my chronograph and a little test of the new front sight. It was shooting low about 3”, which is what I expected, the new sight was about twice as tall as the original. It got the belt sander and file treatment, it’s hitting where I want it now. The old girl (Crosman 140 3rd series) managed to spit out the .22 Caliber 14.3 grain Crosman Premier Hollowpoints at an average velocity of 544 fps. Not bad considering it has what I believe are the original 60 year old seals in it. It is leaking around the transfer port between the valve and the chamber slightly for sure, there is a small amount of oil being ejected out at that point. New seals might bring it up another 50 fps, more would be even better🙂. Felix was checking targets for me. He was a pain in the ass, always wanting to be “down range”😖. I had to keep calling him back, the little monkey.
Never mind those 3-4 divots (.177 cal.) in the door frame to the left😳. I was shooting my old Crosman Model 73 lever-action CO2 rifle awhile back. I hated…still hate that gun, what a POS from the get-go. I could never get it to shoot anywhere near where is was suppose to. That’s right, you can see how far over to the left some of those BB’s hit, and some hit that far to the right…in the bathroom door😳. Sooo, that’s about an 18”-24” “group” at 12’-15’….off of a rest😖. Pretty much worthless, I could throw the gun more accurately than that thing shoots. By the way…shooting air guns in the house and leaving divots in the woodwork…..It’s good to be the king🤴….kinda redneck hillbilly too😉. It does piss me off about the woodwork, but imagine if there was a SWMBO around somewhere…not that it would change anything, except I might be more inclined to fix it. Who’s to keep me from doing whatever I want in my house…..that’s right, nobody.

No annisette cookies?
And what was the verdict on the eggnog cookies?

Not this time. But I did make Cream de Cocoa cookies 😋
Wow, and as usual amazing job. Did you fill it or just sand it or how did you do it?

Nice work, Brother. Good luck with the machining.
That's really nice. I forgot all about my crossman classic. I will have dig it out and show ya.
