@RockyMountainBriar Glad you were able to fix it, but, may I suggest an upgrade
How about an Air rifle that shoots arrows @450 fps????? I know you like your projects, on the other hand, I've always been a fan of overkill and you get 2 shots.
I'm just trying to be funny but I think I'm floundering here
I have a RWS Diana model 48 (image below) that I've had for almost 20 years, I use it for varmints here in the burbs; and as my eyes have not been improving with age I changed the scope last year to a 3 x 9 power.
Its a side cock, gas piston, 22 cal, didn't want to be messing up accuracy by buying one that you use the barrel as a cocking handle, German made and a bit heavy, shoots at a little more than 900 fps and is very accurate to 30 yards.
Most people would not believe what is available in air guns. Due to firearms being illegal to own in most of the world, air guns have filled the void for hunting in many countrys.
@mapletop Yes, arrows🙂. I have an Ataman M2R Bullpup in 9mm/.357 cal. They make arrows to shoot in 9mm/.357. I think I posted a pic of the Ataman back a few pages. It would only shoot one at a time though. I think that double shot uses internal “barrel guides”?, basically I think the hollow arrow shafts slide onto tubes?
Man I loved Lawn Darts…..although….I don’t ever remember playing an actual game. We just tossed them around. Kids these days miss out on some fun things…like dirt-clod and BB gun fights😳. Ok, maybe I/we were a little stooopid (with three O’s). I can’t believe I have both eyes, all of my fingers and only a couple divots on my skull💀
Dirt clod fights...man, those were the days! We used to put gum (tree) balls in wrist rockets too, the old day equivalent of paint ball wars; I had welts that would last for weeks!
@RockyMountainBriar Its true what kids are missing these days, dirt clod fights were great, I remember fighting with my wife when the lids were small about her not being a helicopter mom.
Male children these days have no masculine roll models any more; at least not any good ones, now its participation awards and "are you sure you don't feel like a girl".
I seriously hate what we have allowed the left to do to this country's culture.
@vtgrad2003 Yep. Did the "gumball wars" and can attest they do hurt.
Of course, being from deep southeast Texas, we would also jam "ladyfinger" firecrackers into the balls and light the fuse before throwing. It was safer as a two man operation. I should also mention we did the same thing with watermelon rind and dirt clods. We also would have bottle rocket wars.
Ahhh, bottle rocket battles...those were the days! Nowadays kids have online battles...no fun at all when there isn't a risk of putting an eye out or catching the woods on fire 😁
@vtgrad2003 Well, we did have limitations and lines we knew better to cross. Like using marbles in slingshots or taping large firecrackers (we used to call them cherry bombs)to our sister's dolls resulting in more damage to us than the doll.
Then there was taping the bottle rockets to Matchbox cars and doing drag races.
@pwkarch OK, we did something similar but you guys took it to a new level.
Where I lived in my teenage years we had a 6-700 acre forest preserve behind where we lived, which of course we appropriated as there was little access for actual recreational use.
From age of 16 to 20 we lived in those woods almost, we had camps / shacks all over the place; the evenings were spent consuming beer and playing guitars and singing and the the usual debauchery young men get into.
Frequently while stumbling home in the dark the challenge would be issued to climb sapling trees till they would bend and bring you back to the ground.
It was fun, stupid and painfull because you never knew if the tree would break (and they did 40% of the time) I can personally attest to my coxis and legs hurting for weeks.
And if you think back to that time and the fun we had without: social media, cell phones, video games, computes /e-mail and excessive parental over-site.
If the objective of society is to improve the lot of its members, it's failing miserably.
mapletop Yeah we did some really crazy and stupid stuff which only got more elaborate as we got older. Several of us had older cars with surfboard racks on the top. We would occasionally lash 2 guys to the racks and drive to the local Burger Chef for a nightime snack. Oh it raised plenty of eyebrows when we would drive in under the lit canopy and 2 guys would unleash themselves and we would then go order our food. We were young and foolish. Within the next several years most of us went into the military during the Vietnam War and did some serious growing up. Then we just went to the local bar every night.
@mapletop Can you please clarify the following statement you made? "I can personally attest to my coxis...hurting for weeks." I'm not sure I understand what that means.
Well, it can be casually spelled coxis...it's done all the time although your spelling is the proper spelling, but I was more looking for "I fell on my ass" sort of clarification 🤣 I've never heard anyone say "I fell on my coccyx yesterday" 🤣
Finally! Mid 60's and sunny here today through Saturday! I have to work all day today but will likely partake in my two favorite hobbies the next two days. Hope to go to the range tomorrow and put some of my hand guns (the new one especially) through their paces, and probably drag the boat to Belews lake Saturday for some large mouth bass fishing! Hooray!
All the crazy things we did as kids and thought it was fun, regardless of how much it hurt, has been substituted by U-tube Videos for the current generation. They won't be able to tell the stories that we can.

I have done that with my son when he was maybe 10. He turns 50 in July. Great memories.
See? First BB guns (you'll just put your eye out) and now arrows...remember these? 🤣
Very well put
”are you sure you don’t feel like a girl”😂😂😂😂
Damn that’s funny…sad, but funny.
We don’t have any gum tree balls around here, but we had rocks😳

Don't let them make you the BUTT END of their jokes...😏
