You guys have some great hobbies and talent! Very enjoyable going through this thread!
Use to play a lot of golf until I ruptured my disc. Now a days my hobbies beside pipe and blending pipe tobacco entail coffee, poker and surf fishing.
We like to go camp on Cape Lookout National Seashore in NC in Oct/Nov and fish for Red Drum. Had some good luck in 3 out of the last 4 years I have caught a citation length Drum. All were 43" about 29 lbs. The slot for keepers is 18-27" length. Enormously fun week, no light pollution and you can see the milky way from horizon to horizon on a new moon.
I have a local poker group where we smoke and tell lies. Only did one tournament at a casino. 1200 entries and I busted out 119, 19 from the bubble getting in the money. It was a fun time but a long day.
Red Drum is what we are catching. Last year was one the best years we had. Caught nothing but Red Drum all week and one trout and amazingly zero blues.
My good friend of 40+ years and his wife came to visit from Tennessee this week. They are not smokers, so I have refrained from smoking until tonight (they left this morning for home). He brought me his “small” drill/milling machine to add to my shop toys. He is getting a larger one and needed the room. I have been working on restoring and possibly modifying some vintage Crosman BB/Pellet guns which required and will require some machining with the lathe and the mill.
It may sound pretty boring compared to some of the other posts, but I took the job of family genealogist over when my dad passed 30 years ago. I have traced most of my ancestors to their entry into the US and in one case back 200 more years in England.
Of course, being the father of 15 and the grandfather of 8 (with #9 on the way) much of my time is spoken for
I spent a little time in the shop last night when it cooled off a little and cast a few projectiles for my new .35 caliber PCP airgun. It is finally on the way after being back ordered for two months. I want some “party favors” ready for when it gets here.
@Londy3 Ataman M2R Bullpup Type 2 (.357 caliber). Yes, I have saved for a couple of years and finally “pulled the trigger”. I was hoping to get it by my birthday on July 18th, I ordered it on June 11th. They were in-stock on June 10th, then back to pre-order on the 11th😖. It hasn’t actually shipped yet even though they came back in stock last week…processing🤔
The little 102 grain round nose slugs I have loaded in .380ACP and 9mm cartridges. I had not cast any out of the 120 grain truncated cone mold before, it was a new “gang mold” I had not used, even though I have had it for years. Now I have to find my sizer that is stored away somewhere in my house, big garage/shop, or little garage🤔.
Well, I haven’t made anything in a few days so I got the bug. I decided on some simple leather work. I wanted a larger flat area to dry out tobacco to replace the marginally effective little walnut bowl I turned that I usually use. I decided to “whip out” one of the common type leather & snap “catch-all” trays. I can attach the pipe rest/strap between the corner snaps, or use it to wrap around the whole thing. I didn’t really make it for portable use, but it could be. It is easy to unsnap one corner and pour the extra tobacco back in the jar.
I picked up a 53 pound brick of pure lead for airgun slugs at a pretty good price yesterday. Pure lead is getting expensive, and harder to find. 53 lbs will make about 3000, 120 grain 9mm airgun slugs. That’s a lot of fun target practice per pound🙂

Black Drum or Red Drum?
The Louisiana State Record Black Drum was caught in 2007 and weighed 79 lbs.
The biggest one I caught was 31 lbs.

It was weird reading about how I was a difficult child. Weird but not inaccurate……
Cool! Your very handy. Which airgun did you get?

Yes.🙂
I’m not sure about “pretend” chef, I would as least try every one of the dishes you have posted😬
I'd be happy to make them for ya. Along with a nice happy hour and close it out with a couple bowls Arlington nd a campfire
That's awesome man. I was thinking about an airgun but wow they are as expensive and a regular gun anymore.
This bird I did in watercolor.
I never did watercolor before.
I could not do that kind of art if my life depended on it, nice👍🏻
