@jim102864 - No need to worry. The FDA will do what they will do. The time to start worrying is when they say it is ILLEGAL! Then we can't grow it for ourselves. They hit the nail on the head at the end of the video. We are going to just start flavoring tobacco on our own, but when they say it is illegal altogether, then we can't grow it. No one else can grow it. We can't import it. We got a lot of NIC-Jonzin' MO-FO's running around wanting a smoke! Then I'm gonna worry. Thanks for the link. I had to go on a sub these guys. I have never seen this particular page.

@OlePops - Yes. it did work for a while. It took about two or three months for the gangsters to set up their operations and for moonshiners to build their stills.

I have a tool, left by my father of blessed memory. In a small grocery store in Kansas City, during Prohibition, he used it to uncap soda bottles, and then recap them after he poured out a measure of the soda and replaced it with alcohol --- for "special customers." Where did he get the alcohol? That would be telling......

The device uncaps and recaps, and doesn't leave a trace. I use it when I only finish half a beer; I recap it for later consumption.

Maybe it's time to plant chicory and tomato plants as well as the other things with high nicotine-in-the-leaves in all of our back yards. Start experimenting with which of the tobacco-curing methods work with each alternative leaf.

(or am I misremembering chicory as a coffee additive, rather than tobacco?)

@motie2 - I have a capping tool for bottles but I have never tried to use a used cap. Perhaps it will work. It came in a beer brewing kit I bought back in the 1970's.

@AnantaAndroscoggin - If Ole'Pops is gonna plant an alternative for tobacco it's gonna be one I gave up years ago and not chicory or tomatoes. I'll compromise with them just so F'n far!

Was watching the news yesterday and it was announced one of the major cities in California was banning the sale of tobacco in all forms ... including vaping. Seems like it was Beverly Hills.

@motie2 Does this mean that tobacco manufactures will be forced to admit that 90 percent of the various aromatics blends on the market are actually Lane's repackaged Captain Black blends under a different name? I guess we'll see how many variations of the same blend have been repackaged and sold as another blend. Since I have nearly 100 different aromatic blends in my cellar I can't help but compare the similarities of the various tinned or packaged blends ... and many appear to be downright clones. So maybe using that 2007 cut-off date which has so many of us pipe smokers worried might not be that big an issue, if it's revealed established Grandfathered blends are simply recycled and repacked under different names.

@Oddjob27 That's strange ... isn't California the State that provides free needles to homeless junkies on the street? They will tolerate and actively facilitate people openly shooting up drugs on the city streets ... but find the sale and use of tobacco products distasteful?
