@Woodsman I have CD Towers throughout the house filled with row after row of music CDs. But the tower next to the computer just happens to be the one containing all my soundtracks. So whenever I'm on the computer I reach over and grab one of them because their convenient. And as a result during all my time at the computer I'm listening to filmscores. And the composer I pick out the majority of the time is Bernard Herrmann. If I were ever forced to only pick 10 CDs in my collection and the rest had to go ... "Mysterious Island" would be at the top of that list.
Just listening to some Gillian Welch Carolina mountain folk paired with Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake. I like to pair some Miles Davis with a good whiskey aromatic also.
Like a lot of different music, but primarily stay with blues, jazz and rock. My top five or six are Springsteen,Allman Brothers Band,Santana,Van Morrison,B.B. King, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis. Plus many other sub categories such as The Rolling Stones,Bob Dylan,The Band, and on and on.As soon as the revolution pertaining to being able to record your own music came about I stopped listening to the radio altogether.Got tired of the chatter, commercials and the constant repetition of music.
While smoking I tend to lean towards more soothing music so classical works well and if I am in the mood for something a little more I do like to listen to any thing from Benny Goodman to Dean martin, Frank Sinatra or even a little Sammy Davis.

This second video for the prog/metal band "PALLAS" represents the harder side of the band whereas the song above was a quiet beautiful ballad.
